If the don’t re sign McEwen or someone similar this might be the softest team in the entire NHL. I can’t think of one player besides the two best players; PLD and Kempe that can drop the gloves. And they should not be fighting.

Carolina is really the only other team that might be softer.

I.E.
I've known several of the EBUGs over the years

Might as well recruit 2-3 just in case for Ontario

Anyone here ready to throw the pads back on? We're a couple of illnesses away from Portillo-EBUG in the NHL and nothing in Ontario

talbot- the low effort choice. are we in the beginning of another era of clown goaltenders?

would it be possible to put less critical thinking into going after a goaltender? really tired of watching this clown show of a front office.

Talbot actually did post some stellar numbers for a couple of seasons with Minnesota, before he was a Senator. If he can bounce back to that level of play, it’s worth a shot.
He was my guess all along. Fits the price. Due to his age he can qualify for bonuses. It’s a great spot for him. Hope he bring his A game.

I still like Copley. He isn’t stellar but he does well behind the LA defense.

If Talbot can outperform what Copley did last year so be it.

I still wish the Quick stuff didn’t go down the way it did. It sucks that his game fell off a cliff last year.

Hahahah Cam f***ing Talbot 1 year deal

Absolute disaster

Fantastic management, spending all your money on drinks so you can't afford your dinner.

Even the biggest Blake fans have to be bristling a little at this one.

Just wait for us to spend a 1st round pick and Talbot for a mid-grade UFA goalie to be near the deadline.

Oh GOD Talbot is 35. This is gonna blow up so hard and I can't wait.

Next draft the Kings only have a 1st, a 4th, a 6th, and a 7th. They traded the 2nd and 3rd.

I don't think they will be moving those picks - if anything they will move more players out for picks.

Probably trade the 1st at the deadline

It is possible Blake could grab a goalie off waivers at the start of the year. Always a team trying to sneak someone through.

They can't seriously think a Copley-Talbot tandem is going to be good right? Copley was a very pleasant surprise last year, I think its wishful thinking at best that he's going to replicate his success from last year. We seem to do well with reclamation projects so I guess there's an off chance we can resurrect Talbot, but I'm not holding out hope.

In the big picture, the Doughty contract continues to be a huge albatross around Blake’s neck.

A d-man making $11m a season should be a truly dominant, perennial Norris trophy candidate. Drew is just not that type of player anymore and it’s only going to get worse. No one likes to bring it up, but it was pretty telling when the team didn’t really miss a beat in 21-22 when he went out.

Drew is probably a $7-8m a year defenseman, that $3-4m would go a long way in being able to better construct a roster.

LA Kings: new GM wanted -- inquire within

Oh my. Blake is like the Angels Arte Moreno -- loves a shiny new toy but ignores the overall team needs and how to build a complete, proper team (& organization).

Seriously how could we get to this place in summer 2023 with no goalies? This has been a flashing red light for years. No surprise though since the same thing happened with LHD -- and we ended up playing Edler and Durzi (a defensively challenged RHD) as LHD. Same with physicality/size/grit. We're the guy driving around in porsche in a fancy Italian suit whose house is about to be foreclosed on.
