Doughty does eat 25+ min of ice time per night, which makes me feel a lot better. Mikey is good for about 20 min per game. Now that 45 min of ice time gets split between the rest of them, including a first timer, a guy with three games, Bjornfot whos ice time as been getting less and less, and maata who is finally in a sweet spot playing well. Durzi and Roy can see an increase, which would be fine but the rest is a rough go.

If Mikey was going to be out, and drew in, I was kind of hoping for a Durzi/Doughty pair and ease Spence in on the third pair.

Where are people "clamoring for" a Maata-Roy top pair? I don't think I've seen a single person suggesting a Spence-Moverare bottom pair, if someone has and I've missed it I hardly think it qualifies as "most people clamoring for."

And even if they were "clamoring for" it.....except for the best player etc is one hell of a qualifier but maybe I just don't have enough rec league trophies to jump to the right conclusions.

Sorry, ok, fine, you are right no one was for clamoring for exact pairs.......holy f*** ya got me on that one batman,

However, everyone and their goddamn dog was clamoring for youth to be played.....and there you go..... talk about focusing on the goddamn tree instead of the forest.

D did exactly fine last time Doughty was out, in fact, I beleive that's how Durzi was "discovered" etc...it will be fine this time, as long as the youth is as good as advertised.....which is what people wanted, to see youth.

Moverare- Roy
Bjornfot - Durzi
Maatta - Spence

You'll see Wolanin called up before Spence is.
Durzi spent years in the AHL. Spence is putting up some good numbers on a really good team, but he needs a lot of work on the D side of the puck, and away from the puck.
Just ignore me. Better yet, bet against me - what do I know? :)

Can't wait for Edler to get healthy and give us some D depth, and a chance to rest a few guys here & there.

We should be dealing for a depth D man. I don't have faith in a 36 year old D man coming back from injury. Elder might go down again when we need him most.

Cool forest and trees analogy Spiderman, don't ever see that forced incorrectly into posts over and over again around here.

But no, the 23 and 28 minute per game top pair being out and a combined 3 games experience on the bottom pair does not equate to everyone getting what the want with the youth being played. Some posters, not every poster and their goddamn dog, advocate for specific prospects being inserted into the lineup over specific players. And those posters don't even agree on which players or prospects. That hardly qualifies "most people clamoring for this D."

How this blueline looks without Doughty shows how thin we are in terms of veteran depth and how important it is we get Edler back. It also shows why we need to start parlaying some of this prospects into filling holes sooner rather than later.

Why are you spouting nonsense all over here? No one wants these guys out of the lineup. Everyone loves Lemieux and Arvidsson is a huge part of the team. Mikey going down is bad because outside of Moverare they are very thin depth wise on the left side.
These players getting hurt is much different than wanting Kaliyev on pp1 and to get some time in the top six and wanting Vilardi on the third line over Brown. You are being dishonest for no reason.

I have watched a lot of games with Moverare and Spence in AHL.
Spence was better in every way possible including defense.
I need to admit that I did not believe in Spence before this season…

I'm not saying people want them out of the lineup.....but all year, it's, Byfled, Turcotte, Vilardi, youth, youth, youth, we have a logjam etc...now that we don't....due to shitty circumstances, those same ones are saying we are f***ed....

No one is wishing for injuries, and I never said they were, but, opportunities just opened up for Vilardi, Grudnstrom, Andersson, Fagemo, Turcotte, Spence.....and they need to do what Durzi did, jump in and never let go......but everyone is now saying we are f***ed....because of that....instead of....ok, let's see what they got....which is what people wanted when the season started.

To be fair, most of us were clamoring for youth in place of AA, Brown, Maatta and earlier in the year, Moore, Lizotte.
Obviously the latter two have been great, and Maatta's been pretty good since he got back in the lineup.
And most of us are still clamoring for youth in place of AA/Brown.
