I'm not saying people want them out of the lineup.....but all year, it's, Byfled, Turcotte, Vilardi, youth, youth, youth, we have a logjam etc...now that we don't....due to shitty circumstances, those same ones are saying we are f***ed....

No one is wishing for injuries, and I never said they were, but, opportunities just opened up for Vilardi, Grudnstrom, Andersson, Fagemo, Turcotte, Spence.....and they need to do what Durzi did, jump in and never let go......but everyone is now saying we are f***ed....because of that....instead of....ok, let's see what they got....which is what people wanted when the season started.
Grundstrom and Andersson get to battle for a 4th line spot and both should be leaving it all on the ice every shift. Seeing Spence in the lineup will be fun. I dont know if Vilardi and Turcotte will get a look now but would be fun also. Byfield still stapled to Brown regardless of the situation so whatever you are saying has nothing to do with what most people have been clamoring for.

To be fair, most of us were clamoring for youth in place of AA, Brown, Maatta and earlier in the year, Moore, Lizotte.
Obviously the latter two have been great, and Maatta's been pretty good since he got back in the lineup.
And most of us are still clamoring for youth in place of AA/Brown.

Yep, all I am saying is, that now the opportunity is there.....people should be embracing it, I for one really wanna see the hype on Spence, I liked Moveare in his 3 games, way too limited to know if he is ready or not, and it will be the same with Spence, but it was fun when Durzi played his first game, same with Moveare etc

Kings get even softer. The only tough player is Lemieux. Edler has some balls, but he's out too.

That leaves Kempe and AA as the toughest Kings - pretty sad.

Blake really needs to look at a temp fix for this for the playoffs - even if it's a Clifford or Middleton from SJ.

Maatta and AA have been playing pretty well lately, they’ve certainly earned their spots over the last 10 games or so. Brown isn’t coming out of the lineup no matter what this season, which is the right move in the grand scheme of things for this organization.

We also shouldn’t write off some “lesser” prospects because we have “better” ones in the pipeline. I was ready to write off Durzi because of guys like Clarke and Faber, but he might be the best of the bunch. Andersson has shown flashes of greatness and I’d love to see what he can do in the right spot.

"Tough" isn't the word I'd use to describe Lemieux.

I agree though, adding some actual toughness before the playoffs would be great.

Next man up...

The amount of talent on the roster will be lower but the compete should if anything be higher. I'll be watching for that and what it says about where this team's belief and culture is at.

I'm glad Spence has been called up. Great opportunity to see what we have before Clarke & Faber are vying for positions with the Kings.

I just think you're focused on the wrong thing. People want the youth to play--yes. People want Arvidsson out for weeks--lol you're smoking big trees. Those three are major hits to the lineup.

I agree with you that this is a chance for some youth to embrace the opportunity and run with it. The tradeoff is if some youth had already been playing more--they'd have 50 games under their belts and be more 'ready' to 'sub' for Viktor, for example. Now instead you have fresh rooks with playoff expectations walking right into an angry divisional rivalry.

I've ridden Maatta and AA as hard as anyone but now they've earned the opportunity to show out too.

If nothing else it will be an excellent chance for players to demonstrate where they belong on a playoff team.

Again, never said people were clamoring for the WHY kids are getting an opportunity.....if the youth had already been playing more, then we are still in the same situation.....they all wouldn't have 50 games under their belt....maybe a dozen?

I think AA's play, as it has always been, has been good and bad. When he scores, he looks great, but when he doesn't, he looks like crap.
And I know it'll never happen, but I think it would benefit Brown's game if he didn't play every game. Especially this part of the season where they don't have a lot of days off.
With so many games, the argument for reducing Kopi/Drew's minutes come into play again.

And now, with lineup deficiencies, we have a real problem--if you ever wanted to amp up Kopitar's minutes, it would make a bit of sense NOW--but having wasted 24 min a game on random bullshit one off games in Dec has clearly taken a toll. Now with a condensed schedule and injuries it will become a bigger issue. Should have been giving those extra minutes to growing Cs all along...

Let me guess, because my ignore list is doing the Lord's work:

SomeONE is misrepresenting an ongoing argument about the FORWARD PROSPECTS getting more ice time and opportunity by saying that we wanted Doughty and other DEFENSEMEN out of the lineup to give DEFENSE PROSPECTS more ice time?

So glad to know the continuing misrepresentation and lies. Feel better about my ignore list.
