For the people that go, OMG we can't trade Vilardi....where do you see him slotting in?

Kempe, Byfield, Fagemo
Turcotte, Danault, Kaliyev

Just spit balling possible top six lineups, that's without Chromiak or other type prospects coming in,

So where do you slot Vilardi in?
Fagemo and Turcotte haven't shown the offensive ability to slot in the top six yet. Vilardi and Byfield looked good together in limited time in Ontario. As soon as the Kings lose Athanasiou via trade or free agency, Vilardi is first in line to ride shotgun with Byfield. In the near future (say October 2022), we could see:

AK9-AK11-AK34
Moore-Danault-Arvidsson
Iafallo-Byfield-Vilardi
Lemieux-(2 of Turcotte, JAD, and Lizotte)

I think this is the target lineup Blake has been building towards since the Danault signing. Three lines with skill and forechecking with an energy line. We'll see if Byfield and Vilardi are up to the task next season.

Penciling in Fagemo, and questioning a spot for Vilardi?

Sure.

Chychrun is a good player. He is not worth the rumored asking price. If we are talking about a prospect like Kupari or A-D, sure, but the talks of a Turcotte or Vilardi asking price is just absurd.

Nothing penciled in, I literally said I was spit balling, but as it is, Kings are rich in prospects, they HAVE to move some of them, to me, Vilardi will get the best return, and not hurt the most....to get a 23 year old top 4 LHD 100% you move Vilardi and a middle 1st....when you have guys like Byfield, Turcotte, Kupari, Fagemo, Chromiak, JAD, Thomas, etc behind....100%, if they didn't have that prospect pool, no, you don't move Vilardi....but they do.

The Cryote Chychrun thread has their fans claiming they’ll be getting Turcotte, Durzi/Bjornfot, Vilardi and a 1st…
Lmfao, those dudes are clowns, Chychrun isn’t worth that

Be a lot cooler if it was something like Turcotte, Grans, and a first though.

Anderson - Doughty
Sergachev - Clarke
Bjornfot - Durzi

That defense f***s.

That's way too far off the deep end. Clarke shouldn't be on the table unless it's for a superstar coming back (which is highly unlikely).

Yeah hell no Sergachev is a number two and a fantastic one. But Clarke has Heir Apparent number one defenseman potential. Plus you still have to pay this guy big money and Clarke will be cost controlled.

Any particular reason Iafallo would go to that line? Assuming TM is still the coach. In the 3 years of him being the coach, Iafallo is 2nd in total ice time per game. 2nd in total shifts as well. The last 2 years, 2nd in time and shifts. This year, 2nd in time, 3rd in shifts. Danault has more shifts, obviously both far behind Kopitar, and of course Danault is another coach's dream type player.

Brown, ok, even the coach that loves vets had to say you can't be on the 1st line anymore. Iafallo has done nothing to be kicked off the top line. I don't get why you think TM would replace Iafallo with Kaliyev. To make a cool named line? Yeah, no.

What they claim and reality are miles apart...they will get a 1st, and they will get a Vilardi type prospect, and maybe a B type prospect, JAD, Kupari etc.
That’s just it GBH, too many people are buying all these baseless rumors and valuations..
The truth is a Kupari, Spence/Grans, JAD deal is a great haul when people actually know who these prospects are…
Scouts are raving about Spence and Grans
Kupari is being looked at in a Kempe light and JAD is NHL ready at this point…
Other than Clarke, Durzi and Bjornfot, most fan bases don’t know just how good a season Spence and Grans are having. Hell, they barely know who they are and think they’re trade fodder.. too many people looking at Pronman’s ranking or other internet hacks

Well now you’ve gone and got my hopes up. I will be sad if we don’t get these line combos by sometime next season.

I imagine the hope would be that our top three lines get even time at even strength, supplemented by special teams play which Iafallo would be a part of.

I think I’d rather see Vilardi with Kopitar and Kempe though.

Kempe - Kopitar - Vilardi
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Iafallo - Byfield - Kaliyev
Lemieux - Lizotte - JAD
Andersson, Grundstrom

Anderson - Doughty
Roy - Clarke
Bjornfot - Durzi
Moverare

Give Turcotte and Kupari more time to mature withe Reign.

Chychrun impression from last game.
-34 robbed him clean on boards
- bad pass on boards
- AA beat him on a board battle, lol
- PP2 on worst PP team
- Not PK1
- out of position on Kempe goal
- bad passing in D & O zones
- skating similar to Maatta
- Penalty with less than 3 min to ice the game.

Not only wouldn't trade for him, I'd start Maatta over him. Maybe it was just his worst game of the season. Get to see him again Wen.

Well, to be fair, Chychrun has made it to the NHL as a top pairing defenseman, scored 18 goals in <60 games, and already developed into an pro musculature.

2018:

2021:

If Arizona does nothing, they have a 100% chance of having a top pairing D with proven top-end NHL goal scoring.

What's the most likely outcome of the development of the three prospects you mentioned? A third and fourth line forward and a third pairing defenseman? If we push that a bit, a second pairing defenseman. If we had Chychrun, would we trade him for those three?

If Laine was available the Kings would kick the tires at least. He's only one year older than JAD and Vilardi even though he's approaching 400 NHL games. He certainly does things that no one else on this roster can do. And he's a completely different player than he was last year.

What we would have to send back would hurt, however.
Where would the money come from? He'll need to be resign.

Unless the Reign lose early, and the Kings go on a run, I would think this Kings year is over for Vilardi and JAD. Other than injury obviously.

I know we hate AA, but he has the 3rd highest ES gpg % on the team.
If Vilardi isn't traded he'll play later this season.

Yeah I'm over Chychrun. I have no doubt he would be good, but I don't think he's worth whatever their asking price is. I think if you give up a Turcotte or a Vilardi I think we'd end up regretting it down the line. 1st, Kupari and Grans and maybe something else would probably the most i'd want to give up. If the Yotes are dead set on either Turcotte or Vilardi I say we walk away
Not even Grans.

Chychrun reminds me more of a Matt Dumba type - top pairing offensively but middle pairing on the defensive side. There is some value there, but not overwhelming. He certainly can score, but it's not consistent, and he's had problems staying healthy. He had that one fantastic season but has been simply above average the rest of the time, right now 40 points looks like an outlier for him. They'll get a first, a higher-end prospect, and a middle one if they trade him, and he's certainly not going for less than that. Something like a first, Vilardi, and Bjornfot/Anderson is something I wouldn't even consider, for that price let another team take the risk.
