The Cryote Chychrun thread has their fans claiming they’ll be getting Turcotte, Durzi/Bjornfot, Vilardi and a 1st…
Lmfao, those dudes are clowns, Chychrun isn’t worth that
Not only that, but apparently getting Turcotte, Vilardi, Durzi and a first wouldn't even excite, it would infact be depressing. I want no part of this Chychrun nonsense at anywhere near that value

Nothing penciled in, I literally said I was spit balling, but as it is, Kings are rich in prospects, they HAVE to move some of them, to me, Vilardi will get the best return, and not hurt the most....to get a 23 year old top 4 LHD 100% you move Vilardi and a middle 1st....when you have guys like Byfield, Turcotte, Kupari, Fagemo, Chromiak, JAD, Thomas, etc behind....100%, if they didn't have that prospect pool, no, you don't move Vilardi....but they do.
I agree in principle but not for Chychrun, because it’s overpayment IMO. I think Vilardi has earned another look and whilst I don’t expect it to happen I’d sit AA to give him that shot. For this year I don’t think we need a big move at the TDL because it’s highly unlikely we go deep either way. So personally I’d move AA, call up Vilardi and if we make a move it needs to be for a physical LHD. I would then let the year play out, hopefully give the team a few games of PO experience and start the big push this off season. I expect we move a few guys that splits opinion on the board and we debate the merits of the various moves.

I completely agree that we’d regret moving Björnfot, people forget how young he is. There is much higher upside there than with Anderson.

Chychrun impression from last game.
-34 robbed him clean on boards
- bad pass on boards
- AA beat him on a board battle, lol
- PP2 on worst PP team
- Not PK1
- out of position on Kempe goal
- bad passing in D & O zones
- skating similar to Maatta
- Penalty with less than 3 min to ice the game.

Not only wouldn't trade for him, I'd start Maatta over him. Maybe it was just his worst game of the season. Get to see him again Wen.
I’ve watch him a few times now and he really hasn’t impressed me. People can say it’s situational but given Ghost has been able to perform reasonably well it makes me question if he has ‘it’. I want players coming in that can raise their game in adversity. If he wants to get a move to somewhere like LA, that game should have been his best of the season not the garbage he delivered. Hence I think anything above Kupari +Gransis overpayment.

Any particular reason Iafallo would go to that line? Assuming TM is still the coach. In the 3 years of him being the coach, Iafallo is 2nd in total ice time per game. 2nd in total shifts as well. The last 2 years, 2nd in time and shifts. This year, 2nd in time, 3rd in shifts. Danault has more shifts, obviously both far behind Kopitar, and of course Danault is another coach's dream type player.

Brown, ok, even the coach that loves vets had to say you can't be on the 1st line anymore. Iafallo has done nothing to be kicked off the top line. I don't get why you think TM would replace Iafallo with Kaliyev. To make a cool named line? Yeah, no.
In this situation I don’t really think of the three lines as 1, 2,3. All three top lines would get 12-14 minutes at even strength. I just think that Byfield could really benefit from having a puck hound on his wing like Iafallo.

Blake has already said Kaliyev is moving up. Do you break up the Danault line? I wouldn’t right now. Do you put him with Byfield? That’s a very young line. That’s why I think Kaliyev jumps up next to Kopitar. The initials are a bonus.

It’s just my take on the lineup. I don’t coach this team.

Well, to be fair, Chychrun has made it to the NHL as a top pairing defenseman, scored 18 goals in <60 games, and already developed into an pro musculature.

2018:

2021:

If Arizona does nothing, they have a 100% chance of having a top pairing D with proven top-end NHL goal scoring.

What's the most likely outcome of the development of the three prospects you mentioned? A third and fourth line forward and a third pairing defenseman? If we push that a bit, a second pairing defenseman. If we had Chychrun, would we trade him for those three?

Is a top pairing though? Has he been consistent or are we going to say he’s on a bad team so his numbers are bad? Do we overlook that a miscast from the East is thoroughly outplaying him? I’ve seen him a dozen times this season and he has not been impressive, let alone resembling some that would command the type of package an elite Dman like McAvoy or Werenski would.

All right, I say we send AA + a pick to Arizona for Kessel. He’s a playoff monster on an expiring deal, he gets to stay in a market where he won’t be recognized outside of the rink, and I just really want a Kessel Kings jersey.

I’m fine with getting Kessel, but I think the Yotes are gonna want more, unless that pick is a #1. AA does nothing for them unless they can flip him for a #2 or #3.

I think I'd rather pass on Kessel at this stage. He has just 40 goals in the last 2+ seasons (176 games) and just three goals in his last 25 playoff games. If we're looking to add something to our top six it's a goalscorer and I question if Kessel still has it. Playing in Arizona can only account for so much of that type of drop off in production.

Yeah there is. Especially since bodies would have to go back to get him in the first place.
There is no money to sign a Laine. Some of that cap is already spoken for to resign some of the kids and Kempe is getting a raise. Who are you going to trade that has the value to make a trade work and not make another hole? Kings got holes to fill in the offseason. Mayor did a whole article on it breaking it down.

you’ve watched the coyotes twelve times this season?

Just looked at the standing...if the Kings only manage .500 play through the rest of the season, they end up with 91 points. Current trajectory has them on pace for 97 points. (how many of us predicted that at the start of the season?)

Happy Monday.
I had them at 97 points, but it was for a season and a half.
Haven’t enjoyed the games this much since 2013-14. We get down a goal or two and still feel like we can come back and win.

Laine would work capwise if they send Roy/Walker and Iafallo in the package back the other way along with the futures Columbus wants. Would have to be an offseason move. If they think Clarke can replace Roy on the second pair and Laine comes in for Iafallo in the top six.

Totally valid, 90% of the reason I suggested it was just the novelty of being able to own a Kessel jersey.

Rather not give up Iafallo in that type of deal......too valuable to LA specifically etc.

Did we ever get an official Edler injury timeline? Just wondering if there is any chance of him drawing back in should we make the playoffs.

There have been a few mentions by the Kings staff that they are looking at him returning in March, possibly after the trade deadline (March 21). Edler has an NMC for those thinking about the deadline.

Iafallo is a better player than Laine.

Unfortunately I have.. I moved to Vegas and between going back to LA, Vegas and Phoenix I gotten either free tickets or super cheap tickets when the Avs played the Yotes… VGK tickets are damn expensive.. Also saw the wild game versus the shorks in SJ.. the wife is a sharks fan from the bay and my brother in law is a Knights fan:skeptic:
