But nothing in your original reply said that. Like Axel’s comments about me calling Byfield a bust despite me literally never coming close to saying anything close to that, you made a statement about people wanting to trade Clarke should be developminto a star during his ELC with not a shred of evidence to back up that people would have those views.

You seem to be drawing from some people wanting Kopitar moved at 29 rather than giving him a long-term contract. Do you honesty not see the difference between 29 and 22? I don’t agree with those people about Kopitar but there was some validity to concerns over signing a retirement contract for a player nearing 30 with a ton of mileage.

We have historical evidence on this forum to how fans would react to signing a 21/22 year old star coming off an ELC. Kopitar and Doughty were in those spots and I can guarantee you no one wanted either one traded. Were there some grumpy old men like my buddy @KINGS17 who strongly believed in shorter “bridge” contracts for everyone? Yes. But that is not wanting players traded at 21.

I agree sometimes sarcasm can be tough to pick up on an Internet forum, but it sure seems that no one picked up any in your original reply and instead sensed it was you trying to build a massive straw man by saying people would want Clarke traded. And your replies since then which have basically been “well It was tongue in cheek or facetious” followed up by “but I’m sure there would be a lot who would want him traded” doesn’t lend itself to you kidding.

We should be able to debate the opinions people have, whether we agree or disagree. But this forum (and any forum) loses a lot when people are basically lying about what people are actually saying. And that has unfortunately been the case here a bit recently.

Fair enough, but it wasn't an argument I was making, again.....for the 18th time, I was exacerbating a situation to make fun of morons who think teams trade players like Kopitar....after winning championships, which just does not happen...

It wasn't an argument saying those same morons would want Clarke traded (though I wouldn't put it past them, considering how f***ing stupid their first stance is)

It was an off the cuff comment that holy f*** a ton of you took like I was Moses on the f***ing mountain for some reason

If Clarke earns an 8x8 contract no one’s going to be clamoring to move him. You’re literally making shit up to be offended about

Define earns, there's been a shit load of 8x8 contracts given out that you can argue aren't earned...but are hoped.....

I’m not defining shit because this is all made up in your weird fantasy world lmao

Of course you won't define it, because you don't know what the f*** it is you are talking about, and that's ok....

Answer this though, did Norris and Stutzle EARN their 8x8 Or are they being paid based on hope?

More to the point, I was extremely happy about Kopitar's second contract which was for six years, at a cap hit of $6.8M when he signed it at age 23. That was a good deal for the Kings. It helped in allowing Lombardi to make some of the deals that led to two Stanley Cups.

I was also in favor of Doughty's second contract which was for eight years and a cap hit of $7M, which also went into effect at age 23. Doughty did not get the $8.5M-$9M IIRC cap hit he was seeking.

My recommendation: Never respond to the posterior anatomy of a horse.

It's almost time for the cuts.

If I were them, I'd waive JAD sooner rather than later. I think easier likelihood he gets thru now than at the end of camps though I bet a team (Seattle) is waiting for the inevitability.

If he's the only guy we lose I promise I won't say it's bad asset management, though I'd be grumpy to lose Moverare as well. But that would beat the worry a lot of us had earlier about losing multiple 1st and 2nd round picks a couple of years in a row (keep in mind next year quite a few guys are up).

If they send Lias through waivers and send Kupari to the AHL they can keep JAD as a spare forward right?
Can even keep one of Lias or Kupari up until Arvidsson comes back and even until then maybe more injuries occur and a spot opens up. They have a lot of good players and when you see a guy like Vilardi take shifts with higher skill players it becomes apparent some of these guys deserve a shot on a team that will play them in more than bottom six energy roles.

Moverare.....while sucks to lose, isn't a big deal...... JAD looked good last night.....

Kings are actually in a good spot, everyone who played last night, looked pretty damn decent, even whipping boy Tynan...... clearly no room for him though, but Fagemo will start in the AHL, they have to....he hasn't outplayed anyone they would lose on waivers..not yet.....

I don't know if we want to lose a JAD to keep a Kupari on the roster (yes, he looked good) injuries are bound to happen, and the depth they provide will be needed......I also think if you sit guys like Kupari and Bjornfoot down....and be frank with them, they will go down and beat the snot out of the AHL.....and force their way back.

While every player wants to play, most of them know it's a business and a numbers game.

Hello, you naughty little Kings fans. "Quick" question and then I will dash away into the daylight. Are we going to see Quick and Petersen split the workload this season or will it be more imbalanced than last season?

I love JAD and I’m rooting for him but it’s difficult to justify keeping him up currently. His presence seemed to coincide with Lizotte taking a big step in his game and if that’s the benefit of having JAD then it’s fine. There’s a good chance JAD has the better career but it looks more and more likely that a waiver claim is good for everyone.

Splitting is always the plan, but Quick looks sharp. Todd will go with whoever is running with it, and right now that looks like JQ.

Barring injury, a repeat of last year where Quick plays a little more than half the games is the likeliest scenario.

Tough call....but JAD or Lemieux? And please spare me the whole "toughness" aspect, it's been beaten to death, and fighting, as much as I get it and like it, is on it's way out of the game.....having Lemieux on the roster did not prevent Kassian from taking runs etc....

Was really enjoying how annoying Lizotte & JAD were together on the ice together. Those two buzzing around the 4th line would draw some penalties.

If you send Kupari, Fagemo down, and keep JAD I think this is where you land,

Fiala - Kopitar - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Vilardi
Iafallo - Byfield - Kaliyev
Lemieux - Lizotte - JAD

That allows you to keep JAD until Arvidssons back....and then make a decision on waivers or possible trade....

Who are the multiple guys they've lost? Where's the worry coming from?

It will depend on injuries. Q has a history and Pete's got the bug. Copley is another underrated pick up which the Kings have a history of refining under the guru Ranford. Dont listen to Bobby peanut butter n jelly opinionated goaltending doomsday poster. Speaking of proverbial doomsday, this bus will be pulling up all week.

I would rather waiver Andersson over JAD or Vilardi. Not sure how everyone else feels. Probably an internal bias about one guy being drafted by another club, and I like that JAD is Calgarian
Lias hasn't shown anywhere near enough to stick.
