You know probably because it's still fresh but something we dont' talk about enough is FA perception of this team...I think the playoffs will have opened some players' eyes, guys like to be part of something special that hasn't quite been 'over the hump,' ie teams will start joining the LAs/Floridas/TOs over the TBLs right now and we have to capitalize on that to some degree

I know we'll always struggle with ufas because of several factors but yes, the window is cracking open
Its the money. Why in the world would Lindholm sign with soon to be dying Boston for 8 years?

A year ago the Kings probably had one of the toughest organizations with Lemieux, MacDermid, Imama and Doty. Then they trade Imama and lose MacD in the expansion draft and Kassian basically runs the whole team over and no one does anything.
I'm not sure why what Kassian did matters when it comes to Imama and Doty considering there won't/were never touching NHL ice in a Kings sweater

Yeah except all those players don't score power play goals. You can't punch the puck in the net.

This team needs 2015 Milan Lucic.

We have to prove being a competitive team. If some of our youth get trusted and plays to their draft pedigree (Byfield, Kupari, Turcotte, Clarke) and start making multiple rounds of the playoffs we could have players wanting to move to LA.

Kings can have more money if they will trade Roy, Walker and Iafallo for draft picks…
They aren't worth anything, and if there is one lesson we learned well this year, it is that you can't count on just throwing in the kids and then holding the weight at or better than declining vets. Someone has to be on the roster, and you might as well hang onto them and see if they can rebound their value.

Yikes, but Arvidsson should be ready by training camp with that time frame.

3 with separated shoulders? Any guesses? I'll go Kopitar, Roy and Edler.
Lizotte got crushed once a game. Although his were mostly taken straight into the chest.

Maybe it was Byfield or Vilardi that had the separated shoulders. Why else wouldn’t they be played in game seven. Oh wait….. I think I know that answer

They also had a completely garbage team.

I'm always on board the "get tougher" train and I love MacDermid but he had already served his purpose here which was to be a great teammate during the "we know we aren't making the playoffs" years. Colorado is good enough to roster a nuclear bomb in case they need to detonate it but the Kings are still trying to figure out a contending roster. The Kings don't have the luxury of using a roster spot on a guy like MacDermid at this point.

I do not like making the AHL team softer, however. You've got your future playing down there so they should be insulated with some toughness as opposed to going out and getting the AHL MVP to play big-time minutes.

I hate when Doughty says they need to add toughness because it makes him sound like such a p***y. I do like Blake acknowledging that it is an issue but it doesn't take a genius to see the roster heading in to the season and seeing that it is Charmin. Loved me some Sam Bennett last season. Florida got him for a former 2nd round pick and a future 2nd round pick while Blake is over sitting on every single prospect he ever f***ing drafted while they continue to stagnate.

Blake has shown no balls when it comes to making moves that involve prospects. Arvi is his biggest--and best--one and that still wasn't an actual prospect but rather picks. A 2nd last year (Kings still picked in the 2nd round twice anyways) and a 3rd this year when LA still has the Pens 3rd round pick. Great trade and done from a surplus but there are also a surplus of prospects that Blake just hasn't wanted to move on from. This season was pretty horrific for the trade values of the forward prospects with Turcotte now looking to be in serious trouble with the concussions.

While there are a lot of RHD prospects, it looks like Blake will have to deal some of that out to get quality returns back which sucks since he could have moved these 2022 flop forward prospects this same time last year before their stocks dropped. Going to be interesting to see what he does because I can't see Blake just sitting on this roster with one or two small tweaks: Assistant GM Drew Doughty wants big moves.

Lizotte was definitely one of them, they showed him on the bench in pain rubbing his shoulder after at least one of those hits.

Delete this before RJ sees it

I 100% agree with him

AA has all the tools

He just has the object permanence of a newborn

Can't think the game even one step ahead when all the defense has to do is cover his face and AA goes "oh good 1 on 1, time to stickhandle and stop moving my feet"

Most talented onion I've ever seen really, makes Jack Johnson look like Nik Lidstrom
