AI was good last game. It will be Andersson, he the most un-noticeable forward of the group vs NSH.
I thought Andersson had a good game. It was also Iafallos best game in a while though he still has to build on it. Tough decision for the coach. Lias needs to get some games to get the pace and find a groove while truthfully Iafallo should not keep getting rewarded for being a passenger and maybe watch a game or two from the press box to regroup.

I think we all know AK is going back to the 4th line with AI up on the 1st...we just don't want to say it out loud lol

I was just thinking Lizzote/Kopi/Kaliyev would be a legit 4th line if the Kings added another center.

Wait! You didn't mean Kempe is going to the 4th? I'm confused. Todd trying to stop Kempe from hitting 30!

If Todd wants to slow down Kempe, he needs to keep him on the bench when the other team pulls their goalie!

I think Grundstrom should sit a game and keep Lias in. Carl has been ok, but Lias can play, if given the chance.

Size only matters if you use it. I feel like I can count the number of physical plays Mattaa has made with my dick. Not like it matters, he’s probably gonna play no matter what but it would be nice if coaches didn’t stick to the same old bullshit formulas every now and then.
oh god, the mental image!o_O

I think as fans, we sometimes are under the perception that managing a team is more simple than it might seem. Brown not playing well, easy...bench him, trade him. Kaliyev is scoring goals...why isn't he automatically moved to the top line? These are easy decisions, right? They aren't.....if any of you have ever managed people as part of your job, you know what I'm talking about. Every move could potentially impact the other individuals or parts of your team and it's imperative that you think that through. Culture, energy, attitude...all things you are trying to build. Benching a guy because he hasn't scored a goal in order to 'send a message' could potentially send the WRONG message.

Totally agree. But with Iafallo its more than goals. His whole game looks a bit off. He bread and butter was being a puck hound and being a really underrated set up man. He hasnt been doing much of either and his skating is a bit slower than usual. He has to be playing through some kind of injury.

Cause leaving a guy in a position he's failing at while negativity impacting the workplace as a whole & impacting his teammates ability to individually succeed is a great plan.

His skating is the most noticable issue, he is decidedly less side to side mobile. The effort and smarts are still there, the angle he took on the forecheck forced the Preds to go up the wall to Kopitar's side, who picked a pocket for Kempe's goal.

The best forecheckers never let the defender decide which direction they want to move the puck, they funnel them towards one side so the F3 has a better read on where the breakout is headed. This was a good 50% of the Kings success under Sutter, they always forced the direction then converged between top of the circles and blueline and stifled their opponents. Iafallo hasn't stopped working smartly, the offensive results just haven't been there.

I am not as down on him as others, but that doesn't mean I dispute the lack of production, I just don't give a damn about stats. Never understood why a guy who was second to last to touch the puck before someone scored gets an assist even though an even more vital play away from the puck doesn't get the statistical reward that folks often mistake for quality.

Go kid line! I want to see 2 goals from them tonight.

No surprise on the third line either, considering their positive play against Nashville on Tuesday. Perhaps their biggest “up” of the season, with McLellan highlighting them once again today.

“They have been up and down and we’re entering toinght’s game on a real positive for the three of them, I thought they brought something that maybe was missing prior to and they were rewarded for it,” he said. “Like any group of young players, it’s what’s going to happen the next night. They’re extremely talented, they’re great kids, they want to do well. It will eventually begin to happen, time and time again, and then we’ll be in a good spot.”

I always say AI is just West Coast Cirelli. Media would be all over his junk if he were on an O6, canadian, or east coast market.

Or if AI had playoff goals during crunch time. I’m still waiting for some of the stepping on necks he promised us.

Some good news… I’m very close with my brother who now lives in Minnesota, we are from the UK. So, due to COVID I’ve not seen him for three years and I just booked a 3 week trip to see him. As a happy coincidence he has tickets for our game with them on the 10th April so I get to see my first game in person in something like 12 years.

So my question is, do I admit I’m looking forward to the game more than seeing him?

Who am I kidding, he knows the answer! 😂 😂 😂

If you’re going to fly international to watch the Kings in person, you might want to ask your brother to move to Arizona to make sure it’s worth it.

Completely agree. I’ve managed high pay, high performance teams (I’m not saying it’s the same but ego plays a big part) and the group dynamics are huge. However, sometimes you still have to make the tough choice because someone getting the appearance of preferential treatment can be hugely corrosive. It’s different for EVERY group of individuals so the tipping point will vary for every team and sometimes it’s about the least bad choice. It’s a major balancing act for the team. The amount of ‘caution’ they show for the injuries to Brown and AA will tell a story, for sure.
