Speculation: LA Kings News, Rumors, Roster Thread part VII

This team needs Boko or Clifford bad. That's why our guys are dropping like flies. There's no one to enforce the law. Just a big, mean guy out there skating for 5 min/night would work wonders. Would Blake trade for a guy like that or even see a need for that? I don't know.

Is there the need to make the extra little pot shot comments?

And what is so awful about his lines? The first line has been awful as has the third line, the 2nd and 4th have been great but two guys are injured on it. Kempe has been bad for 10 games now, Iafallo has been awful for a half a season, why do they automatically get to keep first line roles? With so many new guys up why is it so ridiculous to blender up the lines?

1st line has been awful.....ok, yea, that's why Kempe has 25 goals, and Kopitar is at 51 points, must be absolute shitty....

3rd line, has pretty much been a meat grinder all year, but you have 3 other lines that are executing well......but you are right, let's throw what's working away....because f*** it.....

I mean that's literally the reason behind this....f*** it. right?

They don't have enough scoring talent in the top 9 to punt the 4th line by having someone like Clifford or Boko on it. Part of the reason the Kings have had so much success this season is because the players who have made up the 4th line most of the year have 27 combined goals. That ain't happening with the corpse of Kyle Clifford out there.

That was really the problem with MacDermid also. The Kings last year couldnt afford to carry a heavyweight that didnt contribute offensively and they werent good enough cover up any mistake without it ending up in their own net.

The first line has been struggling mightily the last 10 or so games, they have done nothing to address it other than demoting Iafallo for a couple of periods. Arvy and Lemieux are both injured so the two best lines the team has had most of the year are not an option, so again what is so awful about mixing it up?

And can you make a single post without using vulgarity or insults, is it possible? it just makes your posts look really bad and is completely unnecessary, maybe in the future so many people won't choose to put you on ignore if you tried that.

How about a big, mean, physical top 4D... *sobs*

Sorry, I call asinine posts out....for being asinine.

First line has been struggling mightily for ten games, Sure....not as hot as they were to begin with, but that is pretty much every team, at some point in the system....

This is an argument that goes all the way back to 2011-2012, as long as the chances are there, you don't really mess with it,

Kopitar is still on his same point pace, Kempe is going through a slump, I'm not sure the best answer, is to break up the one line that seems to be doing fine, even without Arvidsson.... maybe that's just me though.... Not sure I'm ready to break up the 4th line, who's has been playing fine, without Lemieux...... shit, we've let in 11 goals in the last 3 games, we should probably split up Durzi and Bjornfoot (assuming he wasn't injured) right, or break up Doughty and Andersson etc.....

It's these stupid as hell instant jerk reactions to a loss.....or a slump...that's mind blowing frustrating.....It's absolutely stupid, and yea, I'm gonna call people out on it, Correct me if I am wrong, but Kempe spent time on Danaults line, and it worked as well as oil and water....he didn't heat up until he moved to Kopitar's line...but now....a slump and Kopitar is over the hill and can't carry anyone.....absolutely absurd.

first time putting someone on ignore on this forum.

Me too...as soon as I post this, as I was the asinine poster, for writing out 4 lines...it was stupid as hell and a knee jerk reaction and I'm glad I was called out for it. In the future, I will not be so knee jerk or be asinine. I will miss learning the wisdom of the all knowing sage that is GBH.

must be the most miserable person to have that kind of response from a line shuffling post. absolutely nuts.

TM wont restructure anything other than sub in guys when others are injured. So given that, Id like to restrict my thinking to something within the realm of TM possibilities: He will not break up the 1st line (and actually I dont want to force restructure other lines) - so instead, why not give the 2nd line more minutes than the 1st line.. this sends a bit of a message to them that they need to work a little harder to come out of the 3 man slump they are in. And it eases up in Kopis minutes which I believe is a big part of his and the lines struggles.

Am I old for wondering why people don't say "plonk" any more?
I like it (actually id never heard of it). But, I think it would entertaining if the board had a most plonked list too.. sort of badge of honor like most penalty minutes Dave Schultz style

This team needs a guy who isn't an NHL player?
If that player is buried or somehow given much less playing time. The Kings need somebody who will police the ice. Lemieux is not a big, mean enough presence. Kings can get pushed around. And Lemieux is out. Kings need somebody. This is the reason why there's so many injuries. Guy's are getting pushed around.

I think the league's too competitive to have that guy on the roster any more. Even if Lemieux were two inches taller and mixed it up every third game, I'm not sure the team could afford the disruption to the line combinations on that regular of a basis.

Why? Most of our injuries were just random hockey things. Brown takes a Spence shot off the hand, is Clifford gonna fight Spence? Arvidsson tweaks his knee weird on his own, is Boko gonna fight Bauer’s skates division? It’s not like Tom Wilson broke half the team or something. We just got hit by injuries. Playing a 5th liner 5 minutes a game isn’t going to help us win anything.

Well JQ got run a few times (not just Bennett) in the last game. The team is very small and not assertive (Scandavians and most other Europeans although aggressive in their history have become very docile).. Durzi has the gumption just not the size.. he was trying to confront Bennett and was jawing w him all game. If Lemiuex was there, he handles all that and if necessary drops gloves and f***s with them, f***s with their bench. You know the routine. im surprised you poo poo'd the suggestion...I think Lias has the sandpaper to help a bit with it. Kempe has a little too.. but we cant lose him for 5 min at a time.

We have lost Kempe for the last 3 weeks. 5 minutes ain't nothin'.

I would love to find some toughness as long as they can play hockey. If we’re talking a young Clifford, I’m in. But not 2022 Clifford. Lias and Adrian are gritty and can be assholes sometimes but they aren’t necessarily tough. Perhaps guys like Crouse and Soucy are good choices next week if the price is right.
