What the hell are the scouts for??

Sure, that's a great quote if you want to damn the scouts and coaching staff, DB. It just shows what some of us have thought all along, these guys don't f'ing know what they're looking at when it comes to evaluating what they have and how to use them. So, what has been proven right all season to run the same PP1 unit out there time and time again? Or the PK strategy? Worst combined specialty teams in the league by far yet nothing changes.

Horsehit, it's a quote showing that the kids were hungry, nothing more, nothing less.....the f***ing things you guys read into innocuous crap is amazing sometimes....

Great to see so many D step up last night.
Does this mean we have really good AHL D, or that our NHL D are replaceable...or a little bit of both. One thing for certain if someone is calling blake about a d-man not name Doughty he may as well listen.

Agreed. Kupari and Vilardi weren’t cutting it when they were sent down. If anything management and coaching managed them well as they both built up enough confidence again in Ontario to where they could come in and perform. I might be frustrated they hadn’t been recalled earlier had the NHL squad been playing poorly for a while, but the team has been on a 100 point pace without them.

Now we’ll need to see if they can’t do it consistently. If so, we’re gonna be even better getting guys back from injury which is exciting.

100% agreed.....that's why this absolute horseshit argument of.....OMG they don't know what they are looking at, is utter crap. They developed Kaliyev into a top 6 player....by rounding out his game on the 4th line, everyone was absolutely shitting their pants that he was playing on the 4th line....and while it is WAY WAY WAY too early, all indicators are, that was the right move, and he's sliding into a top six role.

Wolanin step right up.

Sucks, hopefully Bjornfot isn't too banged up. Kid has been playing better, especially last night.

Honestly, would like to see Grans.....just to see if the hype is real or not..in the NHL.....that's if we have to call someone up etc.

I think this quote is a better representation of why the players who were in the AHL were there:
“We’re one big team, I think – finally,” said McLellan. “The Reign, the Kings, we all play the game the same way, so when they come in, it’s seamless now. They understand the language. A lot of them have been here. They’ve gone back and polished their games up...

Random thought -- last night, Byfield finally got the linemates this board has been clamoring for and he might of had his WORST game thus far. Interesting how that works. Maybe he was just overly excited to not to have to play with Brown?

Why was that his worst game? That line was really good in both zones yesterday and scored.

I didn't think he had his worst game? How do you figure this?
I remember one shift where he just constantly pummeled, a lot more of this thing where the puck just explodes off his stick, opposing D continuously breaking up any move he tries....and then ultimately he had an opportunity to redeem himself in the shootout and can't even get a shot off.

yes, overall the line was good...but I've seen Byfield play better.

Hope we can get a Bjornfot update today and some good news....think this may actually be a good thing.

If Byfields line can gel and we get Lemieux and Arvidson back we now have a legit 4 line machine working.

Defense maybe not so much but if Spence shows NHL caliber and Kings dont go into complete free fall- returning D may give some momentum heading into possible playoff run. Timing is everything.

Same was said about Durzi when I said we should call him up when Walker went down.

dUrZi iS nOT aN nHL leVEL dEFENSEMan!

What you said it is just so wrong.

I have watched both of them in the AHL for the last 2 years.

Durzi was always good player, which become better one recently.

Phillips was and is total garbage even on AHL level.
