until he gets injured and people will be pissed they kept him in the AHL. lose/lose situation sometimes.

I am all for bringing him up. He is confident and needs to show that at the NHL level. Plus ice the best team possible.
QB could just as likely get injured in the NHL.

He could. The biggest difference is the cheap shots in the AHL, players don't have the same respect for each other that they do in the NHL. With QB's size that's not going to affect him as much, knee injuries and such are more likely.

Still, it's getting time where he should be coming back up to the roster. There's no rush, but I think after this road trip would be a great time.

I think a 4th liner is just as likely to take a run at QB in the NHL, and I think most of his minutes are likely to be against other teams bottom 6 when he does come up.

I do agree that a call up should happen soon. Was thinking after christmas roster freeze, but really that is arbitrary. He is doing well in the AHL would be good to call him up while confidence is high.

Rob Blake has failed with Vilardi. He should've become the number one center. He's got the talent and the skill. He should've never been the "winger". Blake f***ed up.

Blake f***ed up an entire rebuild. Trade Toffoli and immediately spend as many assets plus more on Arvidsson and Fiala. Keeping legacy players as the core. Not playing any of the 3 top 10 picks in the lineup.
Doubling down on mediocre players like Walker Roy Edler.
Just a completely mishandled rebuild. All because Doughty cried to the media about not wanting to go through it?

You guys are funny. We're basically on the same pace as last year with a lot of time left. They will figure it out. Too many good players on this team.

So a team that added top scorer Fiala, a healthy Doughty, a breakout Vilardi, and a mostly consistent D-core is on the same pace as the team that had none of that last year? And is consistently giving up 6+ goals a game? We do still have time to figure it out, but figuring it out doesn't simply mean "sit on their hands and do nothing," it could also mean make some serious changes.

Who will figure what out?

This IS who they are. They got speedbagged plenty of times last year too. They can't do any better than mediocre.

Why would you trust Blake? His teams have spent to the cap in free agency yet have only won 4 playoff games in 7 years. He has made poor decisions left and right. Never wanted to rebuild despite it being the only way to go, then has made a series of dubious developmental choices.

This isn't an organization, its a fraternity.

Dawg you gotta be drunk, high, mid stroke, or all of the above to not to see how awful this organization is. No direction. No identity. Old core. No new core at all. Some of the worst coaching and roster management in the modern NHL. Three top ten picks languishing in lower leagues, one of which clearly belongs in the NHL right now.

How much more do you need to see? If the Kings were young and scrappy and losing close games on the backs of Vilardi, Byfield, Clarke, etc., no one would be upset. But that’s not what is happening. Rob Blake is *actively* spending assets and cap space on prime time players. All the while Kopitar, Doughty, Danault, and Arvidsson get the lion’s share of the TOI.

You really don’t see a problem with this? Imagine if Lombardi never traded Demitra and Visnovsky, signed Chris Drury in 2007, and continued to run all of those players into the dirt while Kopitar and Brown played ten minutes a game and Doughty was jerked around between the AHL and WJC. It’s f***ing indefensible.

It’s not about the standings. But even if it was, the Kings added a prime PPG winger, have Doughty back, and haven’t gained a single point. Now *that’s* funny.

After 20 games I gave up on this team. There was a second where I thought maybe I'd given up too early, but they just continue to prove that waving the White Flag as a fan with the right decision this year.

Just absolutely f****** baffling roster decisions this year. Especially on the defensive side.

Hard to believe it, but the defense was better with Maata and Spence.
Edler was better last year.

Clarke never looked bad and had poise and made some great plays....was never lost in the D zone.
Moved the puck well and never got much of a chance on the PP. His only thing, was not quite strong enough;
but was not necessarily weak.

They need to move 2 of: Walker, Roy, Durzi, Edler by January 1 and Clarke be on the team, PLAYING
after WJC....and acquire a true top 4 LHD. Give the #1 pick and 2 prospects for Gavrikov or a top 4 LHD.
No, may not propel the Kings to a 100 point team, but they must do something...especially with the D
AND lack of toughness. It's not cool to waive Edler, but they should not have resigned him. He's not a true
problem, but Spence is better than half the D on the roster. Smart, quick, decisive, skates and moves the puck well...and you never see him make a WTF? play ever, anywhere on the ice.

WHO should the L.A. Kings hire as their next head coach, if Todd McLellan is dismissed before the end of the season?

The truth is that we’ve won absolutely nothing with Kopitar as captain and Doughty as alternate. Eight seasons, three first round exits since the cup in 2014. Chalk this up as a lost year, get what we can from guys like Kopitar, Doughty, Arvidsson, Roy, etc, fire Todd, and start fresh next year.

So Cal
Goal tending is a huge problem this year but much worse is coaching.

Bringing in a year after year cup loser was not the solution and it is being shown.

Fire Todd and hire Ian Laperriere to replace him.

There has not in the past and the present a player that represented the team and tried so hard as much as he did.

If there is anyone on the planet that could motivate this team I am sure he could.

LA Kings coach Lappy! Hell yes.

Disagree....if last night was any indication, these TM has lost the room, and the players aren't playing for each other,

First two periods was good, no denying that,

First goal, amazing shot, not much you can do.......but the next shift, you can tell they mentally checked out....and it just snowballed from there.
