Gotta be something in queue right? Not just saving Uncle Phil's wallet

Not at the cost of picks anyway
There was a deal, but Bill Armstrong wanted 3 firsts and the blood of one of Blake’s children.

Huh, I feel like it always happens. Maybe not the big ones because too risky to leave till last minute but this year is a f***ing circus so who knows!
Maybe I’m remembering wrong. I don’t remember the last Kings trade that happened that way.

Eh as long as he can chip in in the playoffs.... He's still a big body who can score. Put him on the third line. Then he can retire early in the summer and get a job as a tv analyst for the Kings
He has the same amount of goals as Matt Roy. He's toast.

If this is all Blake did after wasting draft capital, this team isn't getting out of the first round. Waste of cap and assets. And I an not a Blake hater but this is a failure if they wanted to get to the second round.

I dont get this mindset....Kings are at the top of the pacific and addressed their 3 biggest weakness with a top 4 LHD, NHL Caliber Goalie and a Big Tough 4th Liner with Grit. They already have a great balance of forwards- why the pessimism?

Gotta explain this......so right now...up until last night......we are 2nd in the division, 3rd I think in the conference.....and our two weaknesses were LD and G....

We bring in LD and G.......are still 2nd and 3rd respectively.....we addressed those holes...and now....we are....what...weaker????

Is it possible to sign a college FA or Portillo to a deal before the season ends that starts with the 2022-2023 year? That way there is less of a cap hit in future years. Like say Portillo would be signed to a 3/12M deal (just for math purposes) in the summer -- so instead, we sign him now to a 4/12M deal. Thus it's only $3M/year (over 4 years) versus $4M/year. Same money to the guy but starts sooner even though he's not actually going to play. Just curious if that's allowed since we have cap space & contracts spots open now (for any cap knowledge folks).

Can't be too upset with this TDL, Blake addressed needs. Feather in the cap would be he if Blake can re-sign garikov

I am fan of don't waste assets for UFA and let the kids play cause this team isn't built for the playoffs and far from being a contender as it stands today. But since Blake wanted to spend draft picks and send Quick away, you think he would actually put together a better option at 3C. This team wasted assets for a 1st round bounce. GKG

This is just such bullshit....far from being a contender....standing in 3rd in the conference with no clear team.....

What exactly is a contender to you, a team that wins the cup 4 times in a row??

If you think this team is a contender then lol

That's your response? Again....WHAT do you see as a contender?

I see a team that has beaten every top team in the league minus CAR.....is 2nd in the division, 3rd in the conference, and has a very realistic shot to make it out of the West.....

I'm guessing you think ANA is a in much better position than LA....

So basically you're looking at

In:
Gavrikov
Korpisalo
MacEwen
Portillo (hopefully he signs)

Out:
Quick
Wagner
Lemieux

I think ultimately if you look at what came in and what came out the team is improved while shedding some salary. I did want a 3rd line center because I think Lizotte is punching above his weight class and I think in order to really compete you need that strength down the middle.

The team did get better. Does it catapult them to instant favorites in the west? I would say no, but comparing to what other teams did in the west I think we came out alright. But we have to resign Gavrikov to make this worth it.
