Because Friedman speculated on his blog that there might be a snag with a contract going the other way. He said he was speculating based on nothing but his own thoughts and it was turned 8n to a thing.

We really need Nashville to drop off fast, but they had a good January. Johansson is overpaid, but would be a good 3C, King's have overpaid contracts they can send back. Ekholm would be another target. Also they have Saros, Askarov is coming soon & their current backup Lankinen has good numbers & is a UFA. Wouldn't mind nabbing him on a 2-3M contract to run with Pheonix. Would prefer Saros if available, but.

Cals playing with fire if he does not go to a team giving him ashot at the NHL level, he could be tagged an AHL goalie for life

I dunno. I don't see a huge reason for him to agree to waive for AZ.

I’m too heavily invested in this situation and it’s time to take a step away from it. I will say that if they get Chychrun and Vejmelka while ridding themselves of Petersen Blake should get a medal. Crazy if he can do it without Clarke, Byfield, or the 23 1st.

I'm not sure I would make the deal if it requires any one of Clark, Byfield or the 23 1st especially since we can easily miss the playoff this year.

I got it 50:50 he doesn't even get traded. AZ GMBA? Is looking for a bit return like that cheap guy the Hawks trade to Tampa for 2X 1st. I don't see anyone giving up that big a piece. Bos traded for Lindholm & isn't that desperate. TO is dealing with injured defense & the answer is a chronically injured guy? Buffalo needs right D. If they're going to spend big, why have people playing their off side. I don't see any big offer coming. Maybe Tampa thinks he gets them a shot & two more cups & ponies up. Just don't see anyone doing a Vilardi, Lysell, Knies for Chychrun. Does AZ just drop the price or hold out another year.

these guys are pulling things out their butt - lemieux and walker? Thats a King's fantasy scenario that has very little basis in reality.. thats like having a neighbor knock on your door and say, hey can i take out your trash?

Same, but i'd trade one of our scorers +. Or move arvy elsewhere for a pick. Jeannot scores (not so much this year) and has a dimension we lack, he's a hard Af, physical throwback scrapper.

After reading about all the "Byfield or Clarke" being sent, it's really kinda nice reading our lowest roster talent being sent.
 
@AbsentMojo The report of Lemieux and Walker being part of the trade does make absolute sense, their the cap dumps to help fit Chychrun. Their not the main pieces. 🤣

ya i got it, but why is that even mentioned? Obviously we're not getting Chychrun for scrubs - I shouldve just not responded.. just wanted to slam some of the nonsense out there

Tell me about it. We had stages of grief going on when Kypreos tweeted Clarke was being sent. Now we swung completely in the other direction it appears. Least now the main board could read the "wait, they're getting Walker and Lemieux?!".

I dont take it seriously.. but looking at those 2 assets - LAK is paying them to take Walker off our hands - and I doubt AZ would even want to pay 1/3 of whats left of Lemieux's 1.3mil
