I hope Boudreau resigns and gives the finger to the Canucks. They've treated him so bad these last few weeks.
If he quits is his contract void .. wouldnt it be better to let the nucks fire him .. so he gets paid as well?

I'm not on the bandwagon for Chychrun, but would not hate it, if the potential deal included Vejmelka and giving the Yotes 1 of: Petersen / Walker, whilst keeping Byfield, Vilardi, Clarke, Kaliyev, Turcotte, Chromiak, Spence.

So, based on my preferences, will not happen. If the last 3 games are an indication of a continued downward trend, the Kings may be sellers, come March 3. At least if the Kings were to miss, TM should be fired.

When that Canadian NHL / TSN? reporter tweeted 'look out for the Kings...best record in the NHL since December xx" ....that was the jinx. Maybe she covertly works for the Oilers and they had her do it. I cannot find it,
so I know I am not accurate.

The Chicklets guys were talking about us being a dark horse to win the west this week too. Bastards

Hey, Blake would have a good selling point to any team trying to be 32nd. He could make Cal become a hot commodity.

Blake to any Bedard focused GM "Look, Montreal just lost Caufield and will now be in the Bedard thing...we can help you seal 32nd...Petersen is your answer. Your quickest path to 32nd. Let's talk. I have 3 other Bedard tanking GMs calling me already on Petersen"

Other GM on the line "why don't you call him up and enter the Bedard thing?"
Blake "well....we're pretty far out still, but we're looking at everything"

I agree with everything you said, but I still believe in Helenius, and Grans.

I do not have opinion yet about Hughes.

Madden, Fagemo, JAD and Thomas I would trade yesterday.
Thomas’ shoulder issues have really hurt his stick, the last problem came just as he was starting to look the part. I have hope for him still but he’s got a lot of work ahead of him. It’s a shame because he has a huge bunch of intangibles this team really needs.

Talk about King draft fails for goalies. They managed to select the ONLY Finnish goalie (out of like 338)
that cannot even play in Liiiga. You can honestly have put up a list of all Finnish goalies the last 10 years
and put their names in a hat and pulled out 10 names and all would have been superior.
And 4th rd, 112 overall. Not like this was a 6th or 7th rd pick. Have the Kings drafted a good goalie, since Quick? Martin Jones was a non drafted signee....

I think they left it contingent on “if the goaltending holds up” and “never count out quickie in the playoffs” but biz saying that we might want to try to trade for Vejmelka so AZ can tank harder and we can get more stable goaltending.

edit: Kind of funny how in the DL days it was "build from the net out" and now the net our is the roughest part of the roster. The offence for those teams was nothing like we have now but still, maybe they were on to something

I doubt Grans ever gets a shot in LA, he’s trade fodder imho. Agree on the others too.

Hradek and the other NHL tonight guy were saying the same a week or so ago. Something about how the West isn't that strong and the Kings were potential West contenders.

Petersen will get a recall and a look before they do that and tonight means it’ll happen sooner or later. He’s looked much better in the AHL and is playing something close to ‘his game’ again. No idea where he is between the ears but, if they feel he’s in a good place, at this point there is nothing to lose.
Another bad performance by Copper and it may be the moment to sneak him through waivers.
The Kings have practically nothing in net and can't really afford to lose any of the darts they have to take a chance with and throw at the board.

berlin is an AEG-owned team, there's a reason he's playing there. he was here for the playoffs, rookie camp iirc, and he's under AEG's eyes there. i don't think it's fair to say "can't" play in liiga, i think it's more likely they're grooming him their way

I was wondering why I have not heard anything about Juho. Looking at his stats I see why.
The kings should probably hire Mike McKenna as a head goalie scout.
I am sure they have a list of who they would like to acquire in net.
The reclamation projects have been great.
The difficult task of predicting the future development and grabbing a young prospect in net seems to have fallen of a cliff since Quick.

i actually hope there is no medium/big Kings TDL deal. Blake & crew made this mess and this was the roster construction he built & rode with this long -- let's see what/where it goes. I'd almost be annoyed if he brought in a tough guy with decent skills and/or good LHD (not to mention goalie upgrade). Like why wait until 50 games in when you could have addressed those issues last summer (or even well before draft wise). You made your mess, now live with it and the results. If they end up succeeding (playoffs and a 1st round series win+ ) without any savoir moves, then it's shower all the praise onto Blake, TMac, etc. I'll be first to do so -- if they get in and get at least to the 2nd round.

But if not, especially if they don't even make the playoffs, then what was the point getting PD, Fiala, slow-riding the forward prospects, not giving Spence any time, not giving Bjornfot time to take his spot back, etc.

I agree to a point but I just don't want to give up anything much.
However, more players will be waiver exempt next year.
You gotta have an eye on who we think will be up with the Kings and who may be a risk to be lost on waivers. The reason for the GM's waiting includes the market being in a stalemate before it finally breaks, further evaluations all the way around and the ever present injuries, some season ending that can cause a teams priorities to shift in the blink of an eye.

Gonna need some goal tending to get in especially to get to the second round. Although Quick or Copper could heat up again.
Big if there and not much hope for Cal in my book.
Seems like you are looking for a judgement day on Blake and that is your right.

Scouting report on Walker and Roy fellas please?
They play as defenseman for the LA Kings NHL team.
Which elements of goaltender, LHD and toughness are you sending?
Then we will give you a bit more info.

Tocchet to Vancrouver.
First big move.
Avalanche of trades an other moves warning issued leaguewide.

With Roy you are looking at a pretty decent RHD who will score maybe 20 pts and hold down a spot on your 2nd pair. His main limitation is he cant play his offside or he spontaneously bursts into flames.
Walker is debatable. Some like him, others less. A plug, replacement level 3rd pair. Maybe there is more there but I am not the guy who would see it.
I think we are trading you Walker for Holden here, thats my prediction.

ehhh both kinda decent players with flaws, both can PK, roy moreso

walker probably has better offensive instincts, i like his activations.. roy probably the better defender but the roy/durzi pairing is prone to being a gongshow. roy can play a pretty stiff defensive game along the boards - when he wants to - which i appreciate personally. netfront pretty weak but i'm not sure if that's a systems thing because everyone on this team sucks there

roy's probably more desirable i guess is the way i'd put it

Why would a GM go to a game to scout a teams; players?

You could just watch video.

Anyways, I've never read too much into "GM X is in attendance" stuff. You get these reports every year. Never seems to matter.

What other reason does a GM have to follow LA to Chicago in back to back games? A lot of scouting happens all the time. This time of year, it’s interesting even if no deal comes to fruition.
