We just disagree, Blake's got til next year not this one. Ownership knows the Kings are tied financially until next year.
The Kings are tied financially because Blake's decisions put them there. I don't understand the mindset that that a guy who has been GM for 7 years, who is responsible for every single contract in the Kings organization besides Doughty, yet the team he's put together has yet to win a playoff game, and has ZERO cap flexibility should automatically get another year because of the shit cap situation that HE PUT THEM IN. That it some sunk cost fallacy bullshit.

Then you'll probably be very disappointed. There's no cap to make moves. Blake will have a little more flexibility in the offseason.
I suppose I’d be devastated if I were talking about that. But you seem to have missed the point of my post and the one I quoted.

Blake’s off-season flexibility will be limited, mainly due to the fact that he is unlikely to be employed here.

You're talking to a brick wall.

I doubt we have anyone that would even be considered an A prospect at this point. Too much smoke around this deal so I suspect it will happen but at a slightly lower cost. Something like 1st + Pinelli or 1st + Jack Hughes for the memes. That way it’ll be framed like Blake got Toffoli at a “discount”.

The Kings trading for Toffoli would be stupid.

And if they pay a price like what’s being reported, Blake’s key card shouldn’t work in El Segundo anymore.

Taking Toffoli would be worse than the PLD acquisition. Toffoli not only isn’t worth the cost that’s stated, but he’s also not going to move the needle at all. Kings acquiring PLD at least made some sense.
Tofolli is a lazier and slower skater than Kaliyev...He's Kaliyev with quicker release and scoring instincts. He had a nice 34 pt in 82 game season mailing it in. I never want to see him back again.

If Blake did this, it would be trading Toffoli for a 2nd and getting him back for a 1st. lol Which I believe would be the 2nd 1st we've spent to get him.

Turcotte - Kopitar - Byfield
Moore - Danault - Kempe
Fiala - PLD - Ardvisson
Lizotte - Lewis - Laffy

According to management and some fans here, this team is a Stanley Cup contender. That would be the weakest group of forwards to win a Stanley Cup since probably the Devils in 2003.

Now all we need is Brodeur, Niedermayer, Stevens and Rafalski.

Why would his job be in jeopardy, they're about to make the playoffs for the third straight year. Blake isn't being fired. Ownership gave permission for Blake to make this move with Dubois and knew the cap issues, again I be shocked if Blake is fired.
