lol, Rob Blake would love everyone to forget his cap dump with Cal Petersen. That would automatically erase any new memories about PLD and Walker going for a first.

When you are hand waiving the failures away after 3 to 5 moves, you’re neck deep in excuse making bull shit. Time to come up for air before your nostrils are jammed packed with feces.

With what Washington just gave Sandin for an extension and what the Kings gave to Gavrikov last season, I feel we need to move Roy at the deadline because the Kings won't be able to sign both Byfield and Roy. They will both commands 6m or more and the Kings won't be able to fill out a complete roster again next season if they pay both guys. Move Roy to either fill the prospect/picks cupboard or to get pieces to send back in a trade for a goalie in the offseason.

I feel like Blake is just trying to win one championship and be happy; instead of making a team that is good for awhile.
Why are we even talking about signing Roy? The idea makes no sense.

Flyers got a first for Sean Walker and getting rid of corpse named Ryan Johansen. Walker is not worth a first round pick.

It was honestly worth it to get rid of Petersen, even if Walker had to be included in the deal. We had plenty of RHD then and Petersen is not an NHL caliber goalie. What's more concerning to me is Blake handing out these lucrative contracts to players that haven't earned the money/term (Petersen and PLD are prime examples). Plus I believe he's going after the wrong kind of players, definitely not the character type, championship pedigree caliber performers DL coveted.

Been a fan since 1982, please lecture me about losing lol. This team was never a serious contender as I said during the preseason, many need to realize this and look to next year's moves.
Been a fan since 1988. The most committed paying Kings fans have always been ok with losing. It’s one of the biggest reasons management gets away with being mediocre in a town of sports teams who are at the top of their leagues consistently.

Kings rolling with the core they've and nothing major this deadline. Expect a few paper transactions and Roy isnt being moved. Moves will be made this offseason. Relax fam it's going to get better.

The Mayor's an idiot who claimed that Roy being traded to play Spence or Clarke wouldn't be a benefit because "it would be robbing Peter to feed Tom", IE the lack of defense wouldn't make up for the offense, completely ignoring that doing so would free up MONEY to add MORE THINGS or, god forbid, NOT LOSE THINGS FOR FREE.

But, most likely the org thinks the same as him.

Imagine if you will, Blake slips the handcuffs we suspect ownership put him in and dials Doug Armstrong’s number. The axes finally get through the soundproofed oak office door, but it’s too late, we now have Pavel Buchnevich double retained, in the most all in, “save my job” move imagineable.

Unlike many here, he actually works with the Kings. Mayor > HFBOARDS.

Ignoring that one team was actually a cup contender and one team is a pile of luke warm poopy, just compare the courage of Rob Blake to Dean Lombardi in 2012.

Dean: I can see this team needs a boost and I believe they can go deep in while underperforming, I will trade away my 1st round pick #2 d man because I trust my scouts that that Voynov is ready.

Blake: I act like this team is a contender, keep spending up to my ass on short term fixes to everything, but there is no way I can trust my scouts or my freaking eyes that both my 60% GF D man and the most highly touted D prospect in the league are ready for more work full time. What if the other team scores more!

Buchnevich at 25% salary for Kaliyev, 2024 1st, and a conditional 2nd that becomes an unprotected 2025 1st if the Kings make the playoffs and Buch plays in at least half the playoff games this year. Sounds like a deal.

It's funny... I recall them saying something similar last trade deadline. Then like a week later they traded a 1st round pick and Jonathan Quick for Gavrikov and Korpisalo.

Take everything with a grain of salt. Plans change.
