Actually, Jon Hoven's latest article on the Kings is pretty accurate.

He also called the rotating of Spence-Clarke before the season started.

I would love Trenin, but heard Nashville has pulled a lot of their players who were on the trade block because they are in the playoffs now.

2024 Trade Deadline: Expectations for LA Kings

MARCH 1, 2024 BY JOHN HOVEN

Why did we start with injury updates in an article about the Trade Deadline? Because the status of those four players is largely what will drive Blake’s approach heading into next Friday.

Bottom line, according to team sources we’ve spoken with, the Kings are not expected to acquire a goaltender or a scoring forward — the two most common items mentioned by fans and other media members in recent weeks.

LA is not making a deal for Tyler Toffoli, Jake Guentzel, or Juuse Saros.

They also won’t be trading their 2024 first round pick next week.

Quite frankly, the reason the Kings won’t be making any significant trades is because they can’t afford to cap-wise.
Strange, EK has King's in on Gibson..

On Gibson and the Kings?
Sources keep telling me there are some very secretive backroom talks going on about this..Gibson would immediately make LA a playoff team/contender....The price will be crazy high, but it might be worth it...

I’d rather we not waste any more assets for rentals for a “playoff push”. Sit out the TDL, play through the rest of the season. We make the playoffs, make the best of it. If not regroup in the offseason.
Blake and Luc hope something is coming cause they are about to be given the boot ala TMac for our underachieving Stanley Cup Pretending team! One hopes the Kings go on a tear but sadly they are lacking...wonder if Vegas puts Bjornfot back on waivers cause the Kings could use more youth on the back-end

How much is Roy going to want? 5m+?

How would that fit for next season? Plan on starting with a 20 man roster again? Spend league minimum on goalies? Rotate Spence and Clarke to the AHL?

Englund is a 7D who is good for spot duty, same with Moverare. How do they upgrade that spot with no money?

They need a left handed Roy.

And Byfield is going to get a hefty raise long term deal...I'd say after the season there is no Roy

"Quite frankly, the reason the Kings won’t be making any significant trades is because blake got a peepee slap from AEG"

fixed
Kempe is coming back in 2-3 weeks and Kings can’t afford to trade for anybody cap-wise.
Blake hands are tight.

Englund > Moverare and I know it does not say much.

On one hand, if the team is dead set on trying to contend this year then it’s stupid to let Kempe and Arvidsson come back in late March instead of keeping them “injured” an extra few weeks and utilizing the LTIR space for trades.

On the other hand, the team is not a contender and the lack of cap space seems to be the only thing keeping management from burning futures for a couple rentals to help an ill-fated Cup run. I think Kaliyev is a goner regardless but hopefully that will be the extent of the damage next week.

Good stuff here. Can’t wait for your next GDT.

Yeah. I don’t get it. Keep Kempe and Arvidson on LTIR until the playoffs. Then activate them. Salary cap doesn’t count for playoffs. Use that $7.5 million and get a goalie.

For what? This team is a pretender and doesn’t have the assets to acquire the type of goaltender that’ll make the necessary impact for this team to compete.
Rob simply got fleeced by being impatient and now the Kings will likely need to go through another rebuild because this team ain’t winning shit

Alrighty, how do we get Hanifin double retained then extended & trade Gavrikov in the off-season?

May have posted last week, but Kaliyev for A. Nedeljkovic G & Puljujärvi?

Puljujärvi loves chasing the puck & is bigger than JAD & won't score so he won't need to be benched. Gives another goalie option.

Pens looking for someone cheap that can cash in passes. Kaliyev might be able to figure it out.

Have you been drinking?

I hope our scouting staff takes a good, hard look at JAD and tries to acquire the opposite of that. I feel like LA told him to emulate Dustin Brown, but all he ever saw was Brown at his worst. Just a black hole offensively, he's taken over the mantle of "where plays go to die".
