Have to keep Ingram. Could trade Vejmelka. He’s streaky. Had a rough start and been rough lately. Overall as a Yote been good.

Schmaltz+Vejmelka(50%) for Dvorak+2nd?
Schmaltz is paid too much for what he brings & Vejmelka's numbers are worse than what the King's have now.

This team isn't right. Hasn't been fun to watch for a couple months now. The cup seasons are a decade back with a murky future at best. I respect 11 & 8 for all the great seasons, but time is a ticking. Nothing high end waiting in the wings and the real possibility that they can go 3 straight drafts without a 1st if they panic and move this years in a desperation move. I just don't see any direction or plan. Hope is not a game plan and deserve has nothing to do with anything. Play the game hard and never give up is easier said than done it appears.
This team isn't right.

Blake's in the death spiral mode right now. I expect him to make a stupid deal because if he doesn't get this team right, he's probably on his way out. So, he doesn't give a rip about the 1st or anything else. Like an addict looking for a quick fix. He will sell anything.

I hate this guy as our decision-maker.

im saddened by the fact that after many years as a kings fan, if aeg replaces blake with bergevin and retains robitaille, we will have completed the death spiral. from a stanley cup winning org and a place most players wanted to come to back to hockey siberia and a standing joke of a franchise as it was for so many dark years.
the best thing at this point for the young guys is to get traded, released or placed on waivers. that is if they want to win championships and not simply enjoy an active retirement on a non competetative traveling circus. does aeg truly want to win? time will tell but one things for sure whatever happens its going to take some years to return to any sort of relevance.

If that happens, I will cancel ESPN+ and stop watching the Kings until the front office is completely gutted. Blake, Luc, Bergevin need to go this year, the sooner the better.

Fantasy land trade with Ottawa:

OTT needs a RHD, start with having them talk to Roy about an extension. That should be worth at least a first+. Give them the 2025 1st, 2026 2nd. Give them Grundstrom (for some LTIR and a depth wing,) Rittich/Talbot for the rest of the season, Kaliyev and sweet Pierre who is looking for a team who will love him with 1-1.5m retained.

Kings get Brady, Chychrun, and Korpisalo (with 1mil retained)

I know they supposedly have a cupcake schedule but we were also told that they have so many games in hand and then they lost all of them.

You see that lineup card pre-game last night? Disgusting. They can't compete without both Arvidsson and Kempe up front. If Kempe is out long term, forget it. It's not just the points but the way he plays the game. Sad sack team without any real jump to it loses the best combo of skill and grit that it has.

Guy is 2nd in hits amongst forwards on the team behind Grundstrom. That is a kudos to Kempe stat and an indictment of this sorry ass hockey team and culture that Blake has built.

You think PLD is going to look engaged if Kempe is out long term and the Kings will be losers of four out of five after tomorrow's game? Let's not forget that slide coincides with Arvidsson going out and the nice road trip was with him in the lineup.

The Kings had an 11 game road streak without Arvidsson. In fact, they played most of the season without him. He's not the catalyst. His return did give them a boost, but let's not pretend they couldn't win without him.

Was in Thailand 2+ months and watched games on NHLTV at 8 to 11 am there.
Many talk about the need for a legit high calibre goalie...and then now to possibly replace Kempe....and hope that Mikey Anderson is back soon.
It makes no sense to trade a #1 and / or futures, to get a Tarasenko, Toffoli? or a top 6 winger,
with so many issues, holes, to try to make the playoffs, only to lose in round 1 again.
I think this team would have a chance in the playoffs...possibly winning a round, if Kempe, Arvy, Anderson were all healthy, AND a few players were really pushing their limits, but no one really is...except Byfield. Even DD and Gavrikov both had poor games this trip. Can't have that, from those 2 in 'must win' games!?
And Danault making 2 tape to tape passes on Calgary sticks...and PL's lackluster last 2 games.

What I wanted to add, is I now believe the 4th line is among the worst of all 32 teams and a big problem. Lewis. Good on the PK! Just meh at everything else. Can skate a shift and not be a liability. This is not a great thing. He's not a problem, but line 4 needs size, toughness, and something that has a little more than what Lewis is at 36. JAD? Most vanilla player since Shore and probably less talented than Nick was. That's not good. No size, no toughness, has he knocked a single player on his azz this year? Sure, he can play all forward positions and come in and not be a liability, but the goal is to NOT have players that their best known attribute is "well liked, good guy and not a liability'
Lizotte. F+ grade. Effort, a little tenacious, minus ever truly being physically imposing ever....and still falling down and matters not that he gets up...he's become almost worthless. I have not seen a top 9 offensive (yes, he's line 4, but every NHL player should have some modicum of skill and be able to make plays) play from him since early December. I want players that their last excellent play was no more than 2 periods ago, not 3 months.
Could any of these 3, skate on a Conf Finalist Team? (this should be the measure of the team you're building and icing) Hell no. No toughness. Any forward should love to get out on the ice, when these 3 are on it! Grundstrom? Geez. He's even worse than those 3.

Why be buyers, with all of these issues?
Sell, Sell, Sell.
Roy. for starters. Get a #1. This year's crop pretty good.
Maybe Kaliyev as well, depending on return. Or he's part of package.
The Kings are now very thin with top 6 potential forward prospects.
Ziemmer...maybe Pinelli. That's it. Conmy a potential 'Cammalleri light' home run
longshot.

As much as anyone, would love a:
PLD (25% retained) ROY, KALIYEV +1 2025 (try to keep 2024 #1, use 24 if a must have and would add more if needed...Pinelli? Would love to jettison Lizotte)
Brady Tkachuk + Mathieu Joseph (he's emerged, still only 27 and this yr 10 g 19 a and Kings need forwards, esp if Kaliyev moved as well)
PLD can use his French more in Ohhh-tuh-wah.

Love the idea of getting 2 forwards...14-22 range?
Tij Iginla
Sacha Boisvert
Emil Hemming
Michael Hage
Ryder Ritchie
Trevor Connelly
Igor Chernyshov (only if they can get him to North America)
Love Cole Eiserman, that will l go 7-10 and if they could trade up.
Pretty good draft class.

Even if the rumors are true, the Kings can't get Tkachuk without Byfield being part of the deal, the Kings just don't have enough youth due to the ridiculous decision made by management to try and contend and all the youth traded and high picks basically forfeited to chase that dream.

The Kings could very easily have been in a position to add Tkachuk as a culture piece (power forward) to an already young core. They could easily have made it work the same way they did with Mike Richards.

The Kings young core would be...

Top 5 pick in 2023
Faber
Byfield
Clarke
Top 10 pick in 2024
Top 5 pick in 2022
Anderson
Vilardi
Whatever you got for Doughty (likely a 1st + prospects)
Whatever you got for Roy at this years TDL (1st)

You have so many holes already filled and you are so loaded with youth that a beneficial to both teams (the same way the Richards deal was) could have been win/win.

Thanks again, Rob.
