I guess that big prick they’re paying $8.5M per year isn’t fulfilling their need for a scorer. Such great management this team has.
Unless it somehow miraculously works as a long term deal, any trade the team makes has a very high chance of being a spectacular waste of assets. Blake is almost guaranteed gone, really hope he doesn't get to make this trade before he gets the boot out the door. There's not a single winger within our budget that can make a difference for this team.
If he trades the 1st I’ll drive to Manhattan Beach and shit kick his skinny ass.
This Vilardi hate is truly bizarre. Although considering the Kings got a negative asset in exchange for him, you might ironically be onto something.
It’s absurd that they’re even considering this but I think this is just the way it has to be. Blake has to make one last Chiarelli-esque terrible move on his way out to ensure he’s gone this summer.
Frankly this is more of an ownership problem at this point. A panic trade makes perfect sense from Blake’s perspective as he’s GMing for his job. It’s up to Luc/Beckerman/Cheeseman/whoever to can him before he can do any more damage.

Spent 6 years hoping Vilardi would make the team. King's desperately needed a scorer. Vilardi couldn't secure a spot in the top 9 after 6 years. Yup, I'm over Vilardi.

Tkachuk would be a culture changer. He’s the kind of guy the Kings need to drag them into games and get them involved. Just don’t think the Kings can afford him cost wise.

No , I want to add a real hockey player that has a massive set of testicles attached to him that would Police our toothless team and play along side Byfield for years to come.
All of the Tkachuk boys have wanted to play in America. Ottawa is a beautiful city but the organization has been a shitshow for years. There is no floater labels attached to this guy. He plays polar opposite to PLD. Hell Ottawa might take PLD as part of the package.

Sometimes a team is just blinded by paper stats and heartstrings and lets their emotions play a role.
They look at the standings, see that at this moment they are in a playoff position, 10 games over 500 and still have Kopi and Drew on the team who have done it before.
We look at it as the team has not played well since their winning streak, their shiny new toy is a dud, the leaders are elders, and instead of trying to trade assets to win we should be transitioning from the elders to the future.
I am all for trading Roy, Lizotte, Lewis and any healthy UFA to build up the cupboard that looks pretty weak.
At this point if I was to get a good offer for Gavrikov, Fiala, and any other vet, they would be gone too.
I am going to build around Byfield and I am going to start playing the young ones to see what we actually have in them.
Time to add some size, grit and goaltending to this team.
