Can they run...

Kempe-Kopitar-Kaliyev
Fiala-Danault-Moore
Byfield-PLD-Turcotte
Lafreniere-Lizotte-Lewis

Anderson-Doughty
Gavrikov-Clarke
Roy-Spence

They can flip Kaliyev and Lafreniere when need be

Byfield, working out
PLD, working out

Wpg traded their 1st for Monahan & are still looking for a solution for their center depth.

Yup, that means we're back to Faber. Kid turned down a contract & got traded for Fiala that had an immediate impact. King's still have Doughty, Clarke, Spence on the right. Who really cares?

They need to keep Turcotte in the lineup. They're 6-1-1 when he plays. He looked fantastic with Byfield and Dubois, bringing a ton of energy and skill. Please Jim, don't screw this up. Hes more than a fourth liner.

Dubois - Byfield - Turcotte
Fiala - Kopitar - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Laferriere
Lewis - Lizotte - Kaliyev

Scroll to about 7:15, Elliotte Friedman links the Kings to Saros, mentioning that they've kicked that idea around.

If the cost is reasonable and it makes sense, I say go for it. He has another year left on his contract, and he's 28, and he's been a pretty consistent performer throughout his career.

Can’t figure out how the roster would fit under the cap next year. Really talented team but the cap management here is psychotic.

Likely means Roy and Arvidsson leave in the offseason. If we think Spence can step in for Roy, we can put together a package around Roy and Kaliyev, I think it would make the team better.

Fiala - Kopitar - Kempe
Dubois - Byfield - Turcotte
Moore - Danault - Fagemo
Laferriere - Lizotte - Lewis

Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Clarke
Englund - Spence

Saros

We make decent trading partners if they in fact do need offense.

Kaliyev, Turcotte, Chromiak, Lizotte, Laferriere, etc. Hell, they can take Fagemo back too.

Saros, there'd be retention. They have a ton of cap space & the contract only runs one more year.

Trotz has said he's willing to re-sign Saros. This probably isn't true because Saros was mentioned to want the 8.5 X 7 years Hellebuyck got.

Saros is most likely being shopped because this is the worst season of his career & he's asking for a huge raise that should probably be inked this summer.

Turcotte, Lewis, & Grundström beat Saros for goals last time King's played Nashville.

There's a game of chicken going on. Trotz trying to get an overpay, but the longer he holds Saros, the more likely they are to make the last wildcard spot & hurt their draft pick.

This summer, as a 1 year rental or asking for 8.5 for long term, coming off his worst year, the price isn't going up.

Saros is going to be 29 in April. 7 years @ 8.5, Blake better be very sure about that contract.

Doesn't make sense to pay a large ask for Saros unless Blake is willing to re-sign him. If the signing doesn't go well, Blake won't be around to deal with it. 😂

Soft. I love when fans take Englund out and don’t add a gritty player on the 4th line.

The Kings without Englund are undoubtedly the softest of the 32 teams. You think Blake will do that?

Elliott Friedman confined two podcasts ago the Kings like Englund and even admit without him, they are soft.

So you want to play Spence and Clarke, then add a tough forward on the soft 4th line.

Do you see anyone on the Kings active roster that can do that? No! Then I'm not wasting my time. I'm icing the best players on the team right now (Lizotte is back practicing). I don't want Lizotte or Lewis on the team but it's the best we have. Englund is a 7th Dman and he has showed that through 54 games. Don't get me wrong because he has proven to be better than I thought (AHL only guy) or most of us thought, but the Kings have 6 other defenseman that have proven to be better.

There are plenty of holes for Blake to fill but not enough cap space. The TDL will be a crazy time if Arvidsson goes back on LTIR because he was supposed to be the Kings deadline pickup. Now that's up in the air. This next offseason will make or break this Kings team.

I still think the move is to trade Roy, who btw has 43 giveaways which is less than Fiala. Of his 43 giveaways 42 are in the D zone, Doughty is next worse defenceman with 25 D zone giveaways. It’d allow up to play Spence and Clarke, significantly improving our transition game. Then shuffle things around to upgrade some combination of the 3rd pair left D, goal and bring in a physical forward. Someone out East will overpay for Roy and we have a couple of other pieces we could move in Kaliyev and Lizotte (depending on health), so it’s possible without major surgery.

I hope we don’t move any 1st or 2nd round picks though. I was loathed to lose Arty but I didn’t see enough fight in his last outing so I’m coming around to moving him but only for the right piece.

Still waiting for the Kings to put Kaliyev next to Danault and Moore. 11 goals for and 4 against with Moore in 131 minutes. That's chemistry for you right there.

Now that RV appears to be out, seems like the obvious move to put Kaliyev in that spot, but the Kings coaches have not gone back to this combo for some reason.

RV out "week to week" according to Kevin Weekes's tweet

Detroit could use a RD & Roy is from there. They have some decent prospects.

Toronto is desperate for a RD.

In the West teams like Van, EDM, DAL are looking for a RD, but could all be first round matchups.

Tampa might need a D after the Sergachev injury. They don't have a lot left after their cup runs.

Michael Pezzetta or Brandon Duhaime could be a couple of cost effective options to look at for the bottom 6 that would add a bit of jam and grit.

Minnesota is fighting for the WC so not sure how inclined they would be to move Duhaime.

Luke Kunin is another one. He is currently at $2.75 million and will be an RFA this coming offseason.

Key game against the Perds tonight. Chance to put some space between the teams battling for wild card and the Kings. If the Kings win they are neck and neck with Oilers and Vegas.
