Oh and it's cute how you conveniently ignore the other post, you know the "Put in your place" stuff.
Not ignoring it, I have no response. I told you, GBH has went back and forth with you on that subject several times. If you think I have time to write a chapter, I don't...I actually have to work.

Faber has been a Top 10 defenseman in the NHL this season. You think it's incorrect to say he's been the best player the Kings have drafted since Doughty?
I haven't watched Faber enough to know -- but I do know that Byfield is turning into a dominant, elite center. So for me, Byfield would be the best player drafted since Doughty.

On the DFO Rundown they killed Blake and the Kings saying that Fiala for Faber is a rip off in itself, not including the 1st. OUCH.
Ah yes, the rookie getting tons of time & looking great while the team absolutely fails. It's going to be a few years before we see Faber playing actual meaningful games.

the team was a playoff team the previous 2 years as well. if he's playing so great why is the team so much worse.

What year was Kempe drafted? He's turn into a damn good player too.

Faber has played in more playoff games with the Wild (6) than Fiala has with the Kings (3).

Roy and/or Arvidsson trades would most likely not make the team better now and you wouldn't be able to take on replacement salary if it went in to next season.

If this road trip looked like Buffalo the whole time, it might have been decided but there is a very good chance they are on a five game winning streak heading into Saturday night against Anaheim.

There is nothing in it for Blake unless moving those guys makes the team better right now: next season doesn't exist for him unless they make the playoffs and then it is still up in the air.

If he is concerned about the fleet and not just this year's ship, he should absolutely look towards the near future. Not even the brightest of sides could make an argument for going for it again. This is arguably the weakest team of the last three years despite the over investments in bigger name brand additions. Has Blake learned nothing in his tenure?

This team is an easy out for any of their opponents. Too small, too timid, too old, too many differing agendas. The kind of return you get for a player of Roy's ilk at the deadline is too large to turn down for an extra weeks worth of hockey.

But knowing that Blake is a buffoon, he will keep them both and over pay for a bigger 4th line center while Turcotte gets to watch both Ontario and LA in both their brief post season runs.

Anyone that feels the need to downplay Brock Faber is telling on themselves.
No, they just value their message board personas more than they should. Nobody is that dumb, they just play it online for attention.

I still understand the Faber trade at the time of the deal.

-I’m still curious about how LA went from trying to sign him in the playoffs to deeming him tradable. Did they sour on him? Did Minnesota target him specifically? Did LA protect Spence over Faber? Etc.

Spence I still feel is undervalued. His metrics are decent and he passes the eye test more often than not. A more prominent role would see his numbers increase imho.

Fiala gets a lot of shit but he is a good player. Of course In hindsight the trade is looking like a win for Minnesota. Some called it right away. I still think LA needed an offensive component and frankly some energy shot into the system. Will they win a cup with him, who knows? Would they with Faber, who knows? Get to hear about it for the next 40 years until I die probably tho.

The Faber trade is looking worse than the PLD trade.

AI is on the 4th line and is a UFA in a year, Kupari is a healthy scratch and has 0 goals, Vilard is his usual - hot and cold and injured here and there.

It's the Faber for Fiala AND a 1st that everyone is now talking about.

Minn currently has a 21% chance of reaching the playoffs according to sportsclubstats.com
They are 2 points out of a playoff spot and are playing better than the teams ahead of them. They have already jumped 3 teams in a month.

Nobody saw Faber being this good, even those of us who were pumping his tires from the moment he started playing in college.

At the end of the day, it's just tough to see best player the Kings have drafted in over a decade be playing at this kind of level.
Anyone think that Quinton Bustfield has something to say about this?

kings continue to play like this they'll be buyers. kings just really someone who can play a shutdown role on the 4th. with arvidsson gone do they go after a winger or upgrade in net.

You’re both wrong, it could be either of them at this point. It’s completely wrong to make a statement of fact currently. Either may prove to be but it’s far too early to tell. For the record I always highly rated both players.

buyers/sellers if the kings are either they should trade roy regardless, will get a massive return for a player that wont be back next year. cant afford to sit spence the remaining of the season....
Yeah I think it'd be wise to trade Roy and put Spence in his spot. Kings need more offensive from their D anyway, Doughty can blast slappers but he doesn't really drive offense the way Clarke and Spence can. All the other D basically play the same roles and are kind of redundant, Spence and Clarke both in the lineup means a lot more offense can come from the D. Roy will fetch a big price at the deadline, and like you said he probably won't be back next year.
