I do too. I think another 5 losses ensures it. The best part of this season will be the firing of these losers. Fire the scouts too.

I hope Kelly Chaseman is paying attention because he's the only one who can do it. He's the only one above Luc. The PLD trade looks disasterous on Blakes resume, and his comments yesterday about everything is fine didn't help.

Why do you say this?

I think a lot of us felt he wanted a big raise, longterm deal, after only playing one good almost healthy season. Think Kempe type deal, but with health concerns , which still are there. There's a lot of stuff that went on during contract talks we'll never know, and he was going to go arbitration no matter what. He was scheduled to go to it in WPG until they agreed to s 2 year bridge deal. You don't think the Kings didn't offered him that?

Why did you feel he wanted a big raise with long term? The only reports that came out were that they didnt even have any talks at all with Gabe about a contract.
The idea that Gabe was commanding a huge payday is not based on anything that management had said. And based on Gabes reaction to being traded it seemed like he wanted to be in LA and was angry he was dealt.

I know this is in jest, but it is funny because Blake has stated an admiration for the Predators organizational philosophies.
It all makes sense.

At the UWM-Panthers arena in Milwaukee there is a section on the main concourse with pictures of all the Preds guys who played there with the saying that they use frequently…

“The road to to Nashville goes through Milwaukee”

The Predators are probably second to the Kings in AHL usage, so now we know where Blake got his ideas from.

Thanks Rob, you could have modeled us after Tampa, Colorado or Pittsburgh, but instead we are modeled after Nashville, a team with zero Stanley Cups and one trip to the finals in 26 seasons.

I don't care about the whole Dubois vs Vilardi debate.

Vilardi wasn't going to sign here anyways. I just wish we had actually acquired a legit 3C and had kept Danault as our #2 guy.

Like imagine having someone like Adam Lowry, Ross Colton, or Trent Frederic. Making it so Todd could healthy scratch Englund and have Clarke in the line-up without losing the "toughness" .

So you’re just making up some bullshit?

I don’t see why people debate on the GV contract ask/offer in LA. Both sides believe what they want to, with zero evidence either way. It’s all conjecture and speculation from people that don’t actually know anything. Same as Faber not signing here ever… For the record I hated trading GV.

If PLD starts scoring at wing I will happily give HIM some slack…. BUT it then puts the trade/contract itself further under the microscope as overpayment and poor asset management - which isn’t actually on PLD. Byfield emerging as a legit top C would help there but it wouldn’t erase the issue. I also think part of the problem with PLD is that he’s not being used correctly/effectively, because whether or not he’s worth the price we paid I do think he’s better than what we’ve seen so far.

My gut at this point is that they will wait to see if RV improves the balance and the pp, before making a change. FWIW I don’t think that is the right plan, just what I think they will do.

Blips happen and per @GoldenBearHockey, I agree it’s players not playing with detail in their game (amongst other things), it’s not a system issue as such and they don’t just play 1-3-1 (I don’t understand how people don’t see that yet comment on systems). That’ll happen from time to time and it’s something the coaches must fix quickly. It shouldn’t be an issue that lasts more than a game or two, at any level. When it goes on like then this the players are not listening or buying in and it doesn’t actually matter why. A new voice is needed, they need to change it now. Unfortunately I don’t think Blake will do it any time soon, which will cost him his job… although I hope it doesn’t see him fired as it will ultimately (hopefully) take Luc down too. Nothing personal and I loved them as players, but change is needed.

I’m not quick to turn on players/coaches or GM’s and I started very supportive of Blake. I wasn’t 100% on TMac but was happy to see things play out. However I’d struggle to defend letting either at this point which I just feel deflated and disappointed the situation. I was hoping to fly out at some point this season and i have shelved those plans for the time being.

I think from now on, every time the Kings make a stupid trade we should just automatically say the guy we traded wasn’t signing with the Kings anyway. It’s a good coping mechanism.
Thinking Vilardi had any desire to sign here long term is just delusional.

Whaaa whaaaaa we lost Vilardi. Boo-hoo. He'd be glued to the 3rd line just the same way Dubois has.

Well that was his tenure as a king as well. Same as Luc! I’ve said it before I’ll say it again they don’t know shit about building a team they both jumped for their cups. They both let other players do the heavy lifting!

How come no one has ever asked Rob if he wishes he began his pro career in the AHL ?

Rob, don't you wish you did some time in New Haven?

If luc ever was sent to the ahl, he wouldve been killed

Killed as a figure of speech. A colloquial regionalism indicating very poor success or physically badly losing a contest.

Did Bergevin have Blake's ear on that deal?

No idea - did Blake even make the decision or just make the phone call? Kings arent run like a normal org... e.g. the 1-3-1 system was passed down to the coach from above... so wouldnt surprise me if the PLD deal was as well
