I hope Kelly Chaseman is paying attention because he's the only one who can do it. He's the only one above Luc. The PLD trade looks disasterous on Blakes resume, and his comments yesterday about everything is fine didn't help.
Cheeseman not Chase.

I hope that AEG is coming to grips that the cronytocracy they let develop with the LAK org needs to come to an end. Tim Liewike is still in the LA area from what I gather. Would be nice to bring in a guy like that to clean things up and bring in a new regime. He is the one that found DL and let him do a full rebuild.

The Kings firing McLellan & hiring Patrick Roy as coach was my nightmare so I’m very glad the Islanders beat us to the punch

Roy honestly didn't even cross my radar until someone mentioned the connections but...I dunno. Even if he sucks as a tactician the Kings could sure use some raw emotion. Either way, meh.

Todd McLellan is making Willie D look like Sun Tzu.

Yeah make believe if always fun.

That roster is way over the salary cap too.
How is it over the salary cap?

Iafallo, Vilardi and Kupari make $8.4m combined. PLD makes $8.5m. Fiala makes $7.8m and Faber makes $925,000. I would be saving $7m with this lineup to use for a goalie. LA made the wrong moves to moving out of the rebuild

It’s over the cap because it includes Vilardi, who we all know was never going to sign here for less than $10 million.

gabe doesn't sign here for $3.5x2

i don't really wanna argue against your point but hindsight is 20-20

Ray Bourque wasn’t going to ever sign in LA had they drafted him instead of trading the pick for Ron Grahame.

I also heard Babe Ruth was never going to play for Boston again.

And the Louisiana Territory demanded a trade and was not going to sign an extension with France.

Let’s stop calling these bad transactions.

And good lord, now the Bergeron/PLD stuff (again with no basis in fact), because they are both French Canadian?

Tattaglia's a pimp. He never could've out-fought Santino

Second best record in NHL on Dec 27
Now barely hanging on to the wildcard spot.
Need some wins

This organization would be in a much healthier place if Kopitar and Doughty were moved during the rebuild. Doesn’t make sense to hold onto players like that and have them be top guys still when the rebuild is done. Just crazy.

Who is worse off. New Jersey with Timo Meier at 8.8 a year or is with PLD. Timo is a year older and locked up just as long. Stats wise. He hasn’t done much over there either but more than PLD has done

I just always liked his game when he was in San Jose

I’d take Timo Meier just because when I’ve seen him play he’s trying but there’s no talent in NJ.

I don't care about the whole Dubois vs Vilardi debate.

Vilardi wasn't going to sign here anyways. I just wish we had actually acquired a legit 3C and had kept Danault as our #2 guy.

Like imagine having someone like Adam Lowry, Ross Colton, or Trent Frederic. Making it so Todd could healthy scratch Englund and have Clarke in the line-up without losing the "toughness" .
We will never know if Vilardi was going to sign here in 2023. Vilardi himself has said that the Kings did not pursue a new contract with him with much effort after his breakout season last year:

“A little different this year. Obviously last year it wasn’t much negotiation. It was just here, take this. And then, thank you,” said Vilardi. “This year’s a little different because of my season. But there wasn’t much from LA. Now, just moving forward, the Jets traded for me so obviously they want me.

I've not seen any mention from Vilardi that he would not have signed with the Kings had Blake made a push to sign him. You're really grasping at straws.

Kempe-Kopitar-Kaliyev
Moore-Danault-Arvidsson
Iafallo-Byfield-Vilardi
Grundstrum-Lizotte-Kupari

Anderson-Doughty
Gavrikov-Roy
England-Faber

That would've been a heck of a lineup.

watching Faber in Minny, tonight's game @ CAR another great game, and he's outplaying Brodin over 26mins

i'd put him over Roy & Doughty on the 1st line at this point, would make a solid pair w/ Anderson and you follow that with a Gavrikov/Doughty 2nd pairing

3rd pair: Durzi / Roy (RD/RD but it's fine). Durzi's contract is $1.7m (negate Englund's, he wouldn't be on the team)

that would be the best top 6 in the league

and we had that
