LA KINGS 2023/4 Regular season discussion

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The trade was a joke when it first was made/announced. The only ones supporting it were either Blake apologists or way overly optimistics people (desperately hoping Blake knew what he was doing). Even posters/fans from other teams laughed at the Kings for the trade & extension by Blake.

There is no surprise with anything PLD related right now. It's playing out exactly how anyone in the real world would think it would -- and will continue to do so. If you are surprised, then you were not paying attention to PLD prior to becoming a King.

I can totally verify this. I saw alot of pld in winnipeg. Incredibly disengaged.
He doesnt like hockey- he just makes alit of money off it and now with a ritirement contract his play will get even poorer.

The only thing that will stop the Kings from needing a full rebuild is if Byfield fills his shoes. If he doesn’t become a top first line CENTER. Pack it up.

I think at this point it’s probably something they should have tried 2-3 games ago. Whilst I think TMac should go, not trying it is negligent given the team’s form.

Edit: Mind you giving QB instead of Arty is negligent also. They can play together and it’d probably suit both.

Ya but that would require development and some patience. Lets see how long a look he gets at 3C before they give up on him as a center this season

Could also look at it another way. They’re given by field a chance to lead a line or be the alpha on the line. As long as they keep giving them power-play time I’m OK with this.

The other thing it might do is give Byfield just as many, if not more 5 on 5 time as it seems that Kopitar and Kempe are used on the penalty kill and then Byfield misses shifts.

You want to talk logic, and then bitch about a player who can't stick.....let that marinate some

The timing of the line shuffling is very telling. Or at least it feels that way to me. Blake and Koala didn't put PLD on the top line until they had to field questions about his play yesterday.
These new lines are a direct result and consequence of the questions they answered yesterday.
Which, if you want them both fired, is exactly what you want them doing. Let them fail time after time until there is no leg to stand on.

Agree, but I also think if they had won yesterday, you wouldn't see any changes.....

And I am sure that you will continue to make contrarian comments purely to maintain your image of a pseudo intellectual who never admits to having a myriad of bad takes. But hey at least I’ve been pretty spot on with my complaints since everyone shares them now.
