It just sucks that we went out and spent 3 years term and money for Nemeth and now we have to go out looking for a 6th vet dman? I hope Nemeth can get his stuff together. Would rather not have to give up young assets for a bottom pairing dman.

Bingo

I remember arguing with people this summer who were trying to just dump him in trades because they thought Nils was going to be the more unique player, and nothing against Nils but Schneider literally does everything that you want from an NHL defenseman. The way he's coming in and the way he's playing is just like McDonough when he stepped in here. He didn't need to be babied or sheltered he was just sent out there to play and he ran with it. Schneider's not going anywhere.
I was right there with ya bud.
He’s the type of D every team is going to want.
Our right side should be cover on d for a long ways from a top 4 stand point. Kid is rock solid.
Hopefully he’ll be able to fully take over for trouba in a year and a half-2 years time

Such a typical response on this forum. I've been watching the Rangers my entire life. I'm always anticipating that 10 game losing streak, the death knell injury, whatever. But I can count on one hand the amount times I've felt this way about a team.

My résponse wasn't meant to be a killjoy & I'm not a negative poster, so don't lump me in with that group.

I agree something special might be building here, but there's a lot of hockey left to play is all I meant.. I've been watching this team 40+ years & I've learned to never look too far ahead. One bad injury can derail a season, etc. I'm just enjoying these wins as they come.

Outside of that dope ass touch pass to Strome in the neutral zone, Kakko was horrific again tonight. One rush in the first period where I watched his eyes the entire time he was carrying the puck through the neutral zone. Not ONCE did he look forward at the defenseman who was giving him time and space. Literally not once. His eyes were going back and forth between Panarin and Strome as they were going up the ice in a flying f***ing V and not for one minute was either of them a viable passing option.

So you guessed it.. instead of using his frame and puck skills to drive the defenseman, he yet again tries to defer to one of those other guys who are covered like white on rice and it results in a turnover. It's maddening to watch how little confidence this kid has right now and I'm legitimately starting to get worried. I have no idea how this team still wins games with two of their wingers arguably not playing at an NHL level 50% of the time. It's truly mind boggling
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, imagine if they were actually really good players. This team is at the top of the league after tanking and with absolutely nothing to show for the four consecutive top ten picks they had. This team would never lose a game if Kakko and Laf were the game breaking talents they were billed to be.

I don't know if this was the best game the Rangers have played all season, but it was certainly the most entertaining, the most thrilling, the most rip-roaring excitement I have seen all year. My neighbors complained, I was screaming so loud. Down 2-0 and 3-1,... you just knew this game was far from over. This game was just so much fun. The only way it could have been better, is if Sam and Joe lost their voices calling it.

Fun Fact: Ryan Reaves with his multi goal game, is only 186 shy of breaking Wayne Gretzky's all-time record.

Oh baby what a game! Now that's what I call entertainment.
