Kakko & Laf invisible, Panarin played a good hard effort game
It has to be the system??? I don't know I've run out of reasons. I don't think it matters if you play them with Ovechkin or Mcdavid right now. They just have very little offensive presence especially Kakko lately.
Maybe Laf shows us much more in the playoffs? I could be wrong but get the vibe he won't shy away from playoff type hockey

Man sounds like I missed a phenomenal game. Didn’t have access to TNT tonight.

How did Kakko and Laf look? How was Panarin?

Panarin looked great.

Kakko and Laf sat quietly in the backseat and kept their fingers off the glass.

It's on Turk.

He finally got going and the Panarin Strome Kakko line was buzzin'... Ever since that change it's been downhill. This is now the worst he's looked since his Rookie Season.

Neither Laf nor Kakko had any gamebreaking offensive plays but they both played well matched up against high skill opponents. Kakko did well with the transition game and keeping up with a top line that helped shift momentum back the right way after a rough first 10 minutes.

Strome was fantastic tonite

29 points 36 games right ?

He’s frustrating but hard to argue he’s put up points.

Rooney was outstanding too …

Shesty on breakaways is something else.
And he is amazing at controlling the puck and making the pass to help his team breakout of the zone. Did it many times tonight.
You could see the leafs in the first trying to hard around the boards with the puck so Igor couldn't play it.

and now Chytil is playing well on that line and after him is probably Goodrow. I think KK is not seeing time on that line for a while.

The rebound control wasn't ideal today in the 1st but Igor just went into one of his zones after the 1st. He was unbeatable. Also, I don't think I've ever seen a goalie make breakaway saves look as easy as Igor does. Not even Hank who was one of the best ever on them.

Put him with Goodrow and Barron or something. Let him focus on defense with a simplified game.

It's clear he has mental issues.

I hated kakko’s game tonight again he looks slower to me this year than he did last year somehow

Outside of that dope ass touch pass to Strome in the neutral zone, Kakko was horrific again tonight. One rush in the first period where I watched his eyes the entire time he was carrying the puck through the neutral zone. Not ONCE did he look forward at the defenseman who was giving him time and space. Literally not once. His eyes were going back and forth between Panarin and Strome as they were going up the ice in a flying f***ing V and not for one minute was either of them a viable passing option.

So you guessed it.. instead of using his frame and puck skills to drive the defenseman, he yet again tries to defer to one of those other guys who are covered like white on rice and it results in a turnover. It's maddening to watch how little confidence this kid has right now and I'm legitimately starting to get worried. I have no idea how this team still wins games with two of their wingers arguably not playing at an NHL level 50% of the time. It's truly mind boggling
