Yes, Hank was more emotional….and we certainly love Shesty….but if he can be as clutch a playoff goalie as Hank, you are spot on

i just think that calmness goes a lot further come playoff time. Hank was clutch at times but he had some series he should have won if he was on his game. Hank could be white hot but he could go cold too and then like I said he could just be too emotional.

Shesterkin doesn’t have a bad stretch of games really. Maybe one. But rarely a bad week. And again he has the ability in a game like this to completely turn it around. Hank could never do that.

Let me say this and some won’t like it. But a game like tonihjt is why Shesterkin imo will win a Cup eventually where Hank didn’t.

if Hank had a first period like Igor did tonihjt he’d never recover or he’d be pulled. He just such an emotional player. Igor just has ice in his veins. He just went into that second period cool as a cucumber and shut it down. Awful first period for him but he has the ability to stop the bleeding and reset in a big spot.

again I’m going to say something people aren’t going to like. If he can stay healthy he’ll go down as the better goalie of the two.
Hank didn't win a cup because his teams never had the elite talents needed. Shesterkin will definitely not have that problem. Panarin, Zibanejad and Fox alone are better than anyone Hank ever had in front of him save for year 1 Jagr so I definitely think it's more like he wins a Cup (god I hope so).

That being said, as good as it looks I think it's way too soon to predicting careers out. I think with his penchant for injuries and relatively late start in the NHL he could have more of a Tim Thomas like career. Insane peak but probably not the longevity. It's definitely not out of the question though, Igor is 100% the real deal

Man sounds like I missed a phenomenal game. Didn’t have access to TNT tonight.

How did Kakko and Laf look? How was Panarin?

Nemeth is bad. How he got a 3 yr deal is beyond me. The guy makes the worst play available about 70% of the time.
It’s very concerning that Nemeth plays over Miller with Trouba on the pk and at the end of games. Not sure if he’s more Staal or Holden, but he’s in that mold. Hopefully the coaching staff figures this out before he costs us a playoff game or series.

Kakko and Laf were invisible as usual.

Tonite was the Fox show and Reaves somehow scored 2 goals early to keep us in it when we were getting otherwise caved in.

pretty sure Igor and Hank both came over around the same age no? 24? As I said if he can stay relatively healthy he’ll go down as the better goalie. His numbers actually vs Hank to start are mostly better

Nemeth is so disappointing. I wasn't expecting anywhere near a top 4 dman but he has to be better. He was being carried by a 20 year old for good portions of this game. He's only 29 so don't wanna hear age as an excuse.

Keefe's post game comments exactly what we used to see with our own team just last year, it's really nice to see the change.
On a weird no I was actually kind of excited to see them go down early simply because I wanted to see how they would respond. Sometimes it's better to play a game like this and weather through the tough parts to come out victorious.

Expected a steadying influence. We're not getting that.

I'd rather see Jones-Schneider, personally. At least Jones can skate. Hell, I'd take Hajek-Schneider over Nemeth.
