If his shots go up to the 200 range he's easily a 30 goal scorer, if he gets up to 250 he's scoring 40. Timo Meier had 269 on a terrible Devils team and only had 24 goals.I think GMs will do that on their own with Knies, he fits the archetype for a player someone will overpay for
A few GMs will have figured this out and will see him as trading for a 40 goal scorer who's 230+ pounds. He's in the top 30% of forwards since he's entered the league for bursts of speed 18-20 and 20-22 MPH. He is a unicorn in the NHL at 23 years old with a very affordable cap hit and a long time left on that contract where you get his best years.
It's just the physical profile and numbers make him a rare item and thus people who want that will have to pay for it. Toronto has Robertson and Macelli who are little dangler types, they have two, one team has two of them...How many teams have a guy who's in the top third of skating speed at 230 pounds at 23? Who has a top line skill level?
