Shanahan hasn't let us down there before in that aspect, I don't think it'll happen. If he was out, I would be a lot more worried.

I'd give him some confidence to fix it before panicking.
I hope he knows what they are doing because it is a very critical time. I really want to know what process is going to be taken to rectify this immediately I hope.

This is really, really bad news for the franchise. Given the juncture we're at right now, Dubas was far and away the best candidate to help retool this team. I'm gutted.

That said, can't hold it against him at all. He deserves huge respect for everything he's done for this organization, no matter what the skeptics say. Best management we've had in decades. Thank you Kyle.
or its the perfect time to bring in someone who will actually part with the core vs Dubas who would run it back yet again.

Can’t wait to see you guys run the next one out of town like the pathetic babies you are. Whoever it is will be worse.
All GMs who fail to win the cup should be run out of town.

Good lord, why would you venture there at this time lol..?

I dunno... It's fun watching the usual suspects pull a complete 180. All we need now is for that idiot TWS to praise him. You know it's coming.

Absolutely appalling, IF this is true.

If you're offering $4m + benefits, you believe in Dubas and his project. To "part ways" over money, earning as much as this organization makes and being owned by two telecom giants who print dollars, is beyond frustrating.

You don't make money by throwing it out either. Doubling his salary and the stakes without any success to show for is not something many businesses would just let go.

It's weird and I'm also a little frustrated because I liked what was being done but change needed to happen, and we're here.

Ya me too. He was opinionated like all of us but was will to defend his position
There is a difference between being a fan of Dubas's work yet being open to hearing others out (the ones of whom are actual leafs fans)

And those who will frame every argument no matter what to defend Dubas (who are some of those that are quitting the leafs fandom lol)

I'm not sure you've even listened to this. No, this isn't pinning anything on Shanny, or blame.

It's Dubas wanting full autonomy. Shanahan not giving it to him... That's the suggestion.

There is no blame in that. Shanahan has the right to not give full authority. Dubas has the right to ask for it. In the end, you work under the conditions your employer sets out, and if you don't accept them, your gone.

This pretty much confirms some of the feelings others have had here... @JT AM da real deal would concur. Dubas wanted full autonomy, it wasn't going to happen, and now we move on, for better or worse...TBD.
That's da ticket summed up perfectly .. my guess is Shanny probably helped Dubie out with da family card .. in todays society it gets used a lot .. and this is not meant to offend da younger folks on here .. it is just us older guys lived through a much different world

I swear some people would rather see a Kyle Dubas run team choke in the playoffs than another GM win with the leafs. Bizarre stuff.
On the flip side some people would rather see Dubas crash and burn without accepting that the alternatives may not be any better.
