he did it in purpose to announce this right before Tre presser
If Burke can get that position anyone can.Guy really got hired as a president of hockey ops.

Dubas is such a liar. Very untrustworthy.

You got to give the man credit, he managed to leverage himself to the job without much track record of success. I suspect its the Toronto affect once again inflating his reputation around the league.
If anything, Shanahan is even more incompetent because kept that fool around so long.BS can get you to the top, but it can’t keep you there, he’s been exposed for what he really is, someone else's problem going forward………..
I don’t know how anyone can think Dubas is incompetent and not think the same about Shanahan………
I can see the Penn’s having second thoughts if he keeps jerking them around……..
Not denying your points, but I suspect there is 50 people in the NHL if not more who have those traits and competencies who dont even get the sniff for the job because they were not plastered all over TSN and the hockey world for the last 5 years.I don't think Toronto inflated his reputation. Dubas is well liked among players across the league. Staff like him as well, that's a reputation you build yourself. He may not be the best GM out there. But he knows how to treat people in an organization with respect and take care of them. He's a good human, so that's what makes you an attractive candidate for the president of hockey ops position. Say what you will about the on-ice product, but the initiatives and departments Dubas had a hand in creating in Toronto is something that most teams want to transition to. So no surprise he's become the president. Maybe we see Pridham or Wickenheiser as GM of Pittsburgh now.
Under the table.. Dubas getting full control in Pittsburgh. Just a wild guess but we shall see
Nah. I think he's a liar. Not only did he not stick to his word, but he jumped at the first option available. Says one thing, but does the opposite. An extremely unlikable trait in a person. My initial personal assessment of Kyle seems to played out exactly as I suspected. Really don't like the way he goes about himself.I don't think he's a liar. We heard the conversation from Shanny. Shanny also changed his mind and fired him. That's completely different from deciding on your own to walk away from the team. I think had Dubas come to the conclusion that he wanted to walk, I'd say it would have been more likely he takes time off. But Shanahan flipped the switched and fired him, which can then make someone have a chip on their shoulder.
Basically what I'm saying is, I think in the moment Dubas was genuine about his intentions of taking his time to figure it out. He did not communicate that to Shanny properly, Shanny made a decision, which then in turn affected Dubas. Who cares, GM's move on all the time. Doesn't make him a liar.
