Exactly. His biggest fault is arguably his loyalty and perhaps accerlating things with the JT signing that likely inflated the big 3's contract.

Dubas' tenure being a complete and utter failure
It seriously makes me think I'm living in some alternate universe. Take a look at the situation Dubas walked into and say with a straight face he is one of the best GM's in the league. It reminds me of the John Chayka hype. One of the best GM’s in the league?
He won 1 playoff round in 5 years after inheriting a 105 point team off the jump. And let’s not orget that that round that they won, they got outplayed in 5 of the 6 games.
My god, the Dubas fanboyism on here is bordering on cringeworthy.
I'll be honest....same here.I’m nervous as to what happens next
Could be the best wake up call to these playersI’m nervous as to what happens next
The narrative is written.who cares what 34 thinks, management have regained control of the asylum..............
No more Dubasites, DDL, DDC !!! Hip hip hurray. Wonder if they back the new GM or shit on him like they did Lou.
What's so bad about Treliving? Why the hell would anyone be ok with Treliving?
What's so good about Treliving?Because he is one of the only GM's available with a ton of experience that isn't a complete moron.
If we trade Matthews without getting a legit #1C in return, then we're probably heading for another rebuild. If he needs to have his special GM then maybe he should look elsewhere
Probably less than zero chance. Not back as GM but any chances he stays in the organization ?
You tell 'em, Howard! It's finally over now.
As it should be. As it should have been years ago. This farce went on far too long.
Like a wounded animal that needing to be put out of its misery.
Whether it was because Shanahan was actually bamboozled by this guys baloney. Or if Dubas just found it easier to manage a team with lower expectations. I don't know.
What I do know is that he was truly awful.
Dubas is the worst manager the Leafs had in a long time. That's saying a lot considering the garbage they've employed in recent history. Anyone who takes over now can’t be much worse.
One thing is for sure, whoever it is will have their work cut out for them.
Fixing this mess won't be easy. And make no mistake about it, this team is in a mess. Attracting someone successful, someone experienced, may be difficult.
Two of the most respected executives in the NHL in Lou Lamoriello and Mike Babcock were discarded like yesterday's trash by ML$E in favour of these clowns.
I'm sure other GM's have taken notice.
He's right about being a Kings fan pretending to be a Leafs fan. What are you right about?
Somebody has to re work this .dubas needed to trade marner or Nylander or basically the core 4 would be GMsVery nervous to see where we go from here. I don't have a great feeling.
I agree what a mess dubas could've have the leafs in if he let everyone play out their contractsI’m nervous as to what happens next
Right but if they don't add and go out with a whimper in the 2nd round the GM gets put to the fire for not adding to the team lol it is quite literally a no win situation. He had to buy this year and the players he added were all quality additions that contract stuff aside would be valuable to have back next year.I would rather have not added him because the leafs to that point had shown nothing to say they were ready to make a deep playoff push. All they had was failure against much worse teams and I didn't think adding 1 guy would change that.
Lou probably moves on from the failure of a coreDo you think things would have been different with Lou? I think this is a flaw with the core players they’ve drafted. I don’t think the GM was the problem. The guys they drafted just don’t have that DAWG in em.
I guess Dubas’ main fault was believing so hard in them. Other than that I think he did okay. Wasn’t a complete failure when compared to the last 4/5 GM’s before him tbh.
I would assume so. The new GM will bring in his own coach.
I am never going to call him a genius, I just think he was our best option.
I think Lou is one of the worst GMs in the league.
When you're core is that oldOr he turns that team around and helps sid, geno and Letang win another cup
Yup agreed. I'm not convinced Lou wouldn't have really hampered this team with veteran contracts but in my opinion an older veteran GM would have been useful in the contract negotiations with the divas. This is why you don't sign 5 year deals with NMCs for star players when you don't have to. This is his initial decisions coming back to haunt us and now he is taking off and leaving the mess. I said basically exactly this same thing would happen when we hired him.
Keefe will absolutely be out as well. The new GM will want his own man behind the bench.I am kind of surprised. I didnt think Shanny had a bullet left. I thought if Dubas was out then so was Shanny and Keefe

0 shot the way the team is currently setup. And he isn't walking into the same situation as he did with Toronto. Good luck is all I'll say.
Just eat your crow already. Lou had far more playoff success on the Island sans JT. MLSE made an unecessary gamble on a rookie G and went bust. This was all so predictable.
Rielly had a career year with Hainsey and Dubas decided he needed to stop that and got Morgan Codi Cece. LOL
He can be moved before July 1.Matthew's NMC kicks in July 1st - you can't move him.
