GMKD has the neurolinguistic programming down, knowing everyone’s names and using them as often as possible. An evil genius!

This team is so dumb lol. Also lol at this site trying to log me out because I don’t want the idiot crypto bros running it to put cookies on my browser.

The Dubas super accountability train derailed leaving the station? Dude has his work cut out for him, but I have my doubts.

That was a great press conference. The one thing he isn’t going to need to worry about is the media turning on him. They’re going to love this dude.

I guess I am the only one on this whole forum who doesn't consider himself an expert on Dubas. I just think it's nice that the owners are showing ambition and long-term vision. Would have been nicer to do it two years earlier but what can you do.

None of this matters if Sullivan is gonna destroy any roster Dubas brings in.

Rust for Rakell swap cost us the playoffs. Hopefully Dubas trades Rust somehow.

I think they have similar visions in terms of forward deployment. You might not see BART again but you will see something like it, imo.

I mean... there IS a low bar here at the moment when it comes to the FO.

I welcome most any changes to clean the mothballs out and perhaps make changes so that it resembles an actual functioning entity as opposed to a club full of a bunch of league cronies and Mario-buddies.

We can rag on Sullivan all we want here, and he absolutely has his warts, but he is clearly a respected figure in the locker room and around the league. The odds that a new GM was going to give him anything but a vote of total confidence were infinitesimal.

I like how the bar is set so low for the Pens management that just being able to have actual answers to questions seems transcendent.

Maybe it’s just because of my line of work, but results matter and BS doesn’t. We’ll see if he actually can do what he’s talking about.

He's in management. The ability to BS will be directly proportionate to his ability to get results. The question is who he's BSing - himself or others.

But, yeah, I'm going to wait and see what he does.

POHO is officially higher on the totem pole. Got to think he was offered whatever role he wanted and chose this role because he wants it and the responsibilities attached. Never say never but this doesn't feels like Dubas taking a role to give himself an out, this feels like Dubas taking a role that allows him to shape an org in his image in the way he wanted to do in Toronto. I don't think there's any particular reason to worry about this.
Being POHO gives him a better salary and better job security.

If he failed as a GM in Pittsburgh like he did in Toronto, and got fired again, that would probably be it for him. This way, if the Penguins struggle, he can just fire the GM and continue on with business as usual.

Once you’re a POHO you’re pretty much set for life.

Yeah I don’t know if there’s a bigger difference with how fans view coaches vs how people actually running the team view coaches.

Anyone expecting someone to come in and get rid of Sullivan just wasn’t being realistic.

FSG swiped everyone else aside like two-ish weeks into the interviewing process once Dubas became available, then courted him for like, what, another week or so?

They think extremely highly of the guy. I dunno if that's gonna work out, but I really don't think they hired a random schlub to fall in line behind Sully.

The issue here is that nobody outside of this forum has any issue with Sully. Quite the opposite, likely, they think he's f***ing stellar.

Nobody was gonna come in and put the heat to Sully or fire him immediately, imo.
