Those are lies.
Well his name is Donnie so...
Those are lies.
While I was one of the most vehement anti Foligno guys on the board, nobody in this draft was going to help this teamxwin now, or in the foreseeable future. That's on guys like Sandin, Liljegren, Niemela, Amirov, Anderson, Abramov, Gogolev, etc.
Dubas needs to win a couple trades and make a difference in free agency.
Your post is not well thought out. Oilers want to steal one of our players? I expect Dubas to make them pay via a higher cap hit or adequate comp. who cares about a 6th. Sends a msg.
He has been pulling bigger blunders to cover up his blunders. The rebuild botched, he has no prospect pool.
With years of future damage built in.That’s pretty much the exact definition of asset mismanagement.
Now that Dubas is really getting desperate to save his job this year, I expect he’ll make even worse decisions until he’s mercifully fired.
The only player that the leafs really needed to resign, that is headed to free agency. That totally misguided pajama boy signing is the gift that keeps on giving.Breaking: Zach Hyman is the only player in the league heading to UFA this year.
Totally. Dubas would jump at the chance to add a pick for nothing.Wasting a 1st and 4th on Foligno was a total failure.
Aside from the fact that Foligno’s never won anything in his career beyond ONE (1) first round playoff series, he was damaged goods.
Dave the Save, Riley Trash and Ben Hutton were more examples of how to flush your draft picks down the toilet. They contributed absolutely nothing.
So after wasting so many draft picks on no-talent hacks that accomplished ZERO, you’d think Dubas would jump at the opportunity to add a draft pick for nothing.
I’m certain the Leafs could hire a kid who’s only life experience is playing NHL21 video games and the kid couldn’t do a worse job at asset mismanagement than Dubas has done.
He has an excellent prospect pool. Worry about your own team's direction. He has been pulling bigger blunders to cover up his blunders. The rebuild botched, he has no prospect pool.
6th round pick would be a shot in the dark, but with the leafs prospect pool, or lack of prospects that’s a shot he probably should of takenHe wanted a better pick and Edmonton was offering trash plain and simple. That 6th rounder is going to make you feel better? Haha

About the pick for,Hyman, who cares. Dubas spends 1st rd picks like a Beverley hills housewife spends money. And he’s grovelling over whether it’s a 6th or 4th or whatever. I don’t like dubas as a gm, I think he is horrible. Every time I see him do an interview his thinking of what is a successful team to him should look like in a contact sport like hockey with a salary cap is baffling. He was just on tim and friends and was defiant that the core will stay together. When asked about the flat cap, his response “ well everyone has to deal with a flat cap”. Well dubie, not everyone has to deal with half there cap tied up in 4 players! I am 100% convinced, this is his ship and he is going down with it. When the leafs miss the playoffs next year, dubie will be fired just like the other GM’s before him.
I agree with this point. I'm happy Dubas did this and I hope he continues not being such a pushover.I think it's good he's sticking to his ask.
It's an investment in letting the league know you are not a pushover in negotiations.
Edmonton was never offering a free draft pick. They would want something for it. No team is going to give away a draft pick. This is yet another bashing thread. This time you made up the cause.

This^Edmonton shouldn't have even been permitted to the table without an understanding in place as to what the cost was going to be.
I would bet that Dubas get's picked up almost immediately by another team.Doubt he'll be able to use that reputational investment he's built for more than another year anyway, unless another team owner wants a GM who'll destroy the teams salary structure with no return on investment
