Major rival? We play these guys twice a year, and will never play them in the playoffs unless we both happen to make the Stanley Cup Finals in the same year, which if you look at their roster is clearly not going to happen.

It's two free picks. This isn't the same as the high price paid to take on capspace (eg 1st to move Marleau, Brown to move Zaitsev etc), because we don't have to absorb any caphit. This is two picks with no other negative impact on us.

Edmonton is not a major rival,not even a real rival at all.
They are in the west,no real concern for us.

Our GM once praised picks as gold and traded down to add picks a few times because he said to add picks at every chance.
The last couple of years he was traded them away like they were worthless and now turns down 2 picks for nothing.
He has gone from picks are gold to draft shmaft.

We waited for a very long time for a star center and solid pieces to have a real contender and it looked like we were on our way and now this moron takes over and is wrecking it all because all he can do is talk the talk and has no clue how to walk the walk.
