What I don’t understand how he keeps improving a defence that’s been awesome for years and didn’t need improving. I mean…

My favorite is Freddy sinking the Leafs cause he's terrible but the Leafs are superior to Carolina defensively but Freddy is posting career best numbers there.

No clue how one would work that one out in their head.

Dubas arguably had the best deadline of anyone.

Just like most of his moves, he got good value. Also like many of his moves, building the best team is more than just value hunting.

Honestly, the things we really need aren’t available at the trade deadline, so I suppose it’s not fair to criticize Dubas for not getting them. I also do like this deal. Both Giordano and Blackwell are good adds. Anything that pushed Justin Holl out of the lineup is getting my vote. Blackwell should help the 4th line.

2017-2018 our teams very similar on paper......2018-2019 we downgraded on offense. Defense you could argue is slightly better.....2019-2020 downgraded on offense again, defense still on par with our current lineup, but we took a dive in net(Campbell/Andersen vs Campbell/Mrazek).......2020-2021 hate to say it but again we take a hit on offense/goalies and defense is the same....worst part Kyle left quit a bit of money on the table this year, especially if Muzzin is out until April 30th, this is risking bringing back Campbell early aswell and forcing him to play injured, especially if he tweaks something...who do we rely on then?(Andersen they did the same crap)...it also makes all the previous trades for upgrades pointless, we should have just stuck to our rebuild.

If Campbell is forced to play injured and we blow his career, what do we do then Kyle.....its going to cost you alot more than the late 1st round pick you could have got for Fluery to help ease Campbell back and have someone with a solid track record(top 10 all time)and still has the passion to win another cup if needed to play....regardless would have been an awesome mentor on and off the bench for Campbell & our offense/defense strategy

Sorry to burst your bubble but we didnt upgrade at all on defense from last year and even if we did it's so small you won't notice anything different.....but what you will notice is we took a dive in net, only 1man we can rely on and he's currently injured atm with only a month left in the season.

Worst part of it all, we couldn't close out the series on Montreal for our captain and Kyle expects this downgraded squad to make a difference...we had all the momentum and every reason to win and still flopped like a fish.

At the end of the day its years wasted on our prime players contracts, and draft picks tossed away every year in the same fashion...only to end up with a squad with more holes in it then when he started.

Can we pick one or the other, full rebuild or send it and go full tilt for 2years if we get nothing done blow it up just like buddy did with Lowry and DeRozan for the Raptors...our management is falling into the same old trap.

We have the best prospect groupe in a long time, possibly the best and were just burning years away

Is Kase ever going to play again?

Nobody could possibly be worse than Thornton.

Giordano is a huge upgrade over Dermott, and I think Lyubushkin is a slight downgrade over Bogosian.

On paper, we're better. The problem is we need to be a lot better, since we won't be facing Montreal this year.

Well we all get opinions, thats what a message board is for. D looks better to me over Hutton and Letonen. How much a dive can we really take from a goalie that can't win a playoff round? Another goalie that can't win a round? I don't mean any disrespect to Freddie but you gotta move on.

It's funny coz imo despite his hustle plugging style, Hyman was actually only really an offensive player. Defensively he wasn't very good. I don't think he has any advantage over Bunting on that side of the puck tbh.
