Posted in the Mikheyev thread, but this is suitable as well.

You can criticize some hockey moves, but boy, not many GM’s would stay with a player at the hospital this long.

Absolute class act. Put yourself in Mikheyev's shoes, you're in a foreign country and have just suffered a very scary and very serious injury. I'm sure it meant the world to Mikheyev to have a familiar face stick by his side. Moves like this are classy and I'm sure done completely for all the right reasons. On the selfish (business) side of it, could go a long ways in Mikheyev inking a hometown discount to stay in the blue and white. I hope Mikheyev is back in time for the playoffs!

Blue chip prospects Edmonton has Pulijujarvi, Yamamoto, Bouchard and Broberg.

Montreal's blue chippers Poehling, Caufield, Romanov.

TO's blue chippers Lilly and Sandin.

This is from The Hockey News' Top 100 21 and under edition.

Poehling scored 3 goals in a game against TO last year.

I think we Leaf fans would feel pretty good about those prospects if they were Leaf prospects.
From what I've been seeing, I'd add Nick Robertson to that list for us

Thats the right thing to do and no doubt in my mind thats a friendship thing. Real stuff. It doesn’t surprise me Dubas done that. He is that type of good person. Good guy.

The court of public opinion, media, hockey lifers, other GMs etc etc., have all made the point Dubas has overpaid but go ahead and disregard all that and go off your little hf boards ledger of posts that you track lol.

Oh ok you respond condescending me. Fine. You are going to have to wait and see like the rest of us. Projecting cap hits is science and its there. Panarin,Marner,Matthews same quality and basically the same money.

Apples and oranges. UFA vs RFA. I can’t take your argument seriously with all the holes in it.

95 percent of the commentary around the league agrees. It’s important to remember this place isn’t representative or subjective, it’s a fan site. We overpaid, nobody is really debating this fact in hockey circles, except here and a couple media outliers.

The nice thing is we didn’t use a mid 1st round pick on Robertson and he’s probably better than Canfield.
For a late second it's all you can ask for at this point. I love the aggression he has in his game for a little guy. That should only grow as he becomes a man and gets more comfortable

Really hoping he has a growth spurt too. His brother Jason Robertson is 6'2"...

Popped up on my Facebook from NHL Rumors that the Leafs and Rangers are apparently close to finalizing a "Georgiev for Bracco or Timashov and some picks". Not sure how the salary would work out here, and I'd assume they'd want Bracco over Timashov for upside. Not sure why the Rangers would want to move him but would love if it were true. Georgiev is 23 and already reaching "starter" status. Would be great as Goalie of the future as Andersen will likely get super expensive in 2 years and will be 32 years of age at that time. Would be cool if we could work something out to get Lias Andersson in there too but it all seems fairly pipe dreamish as is lol
