Pendulum has swung to far the opposite direction. McCabe and Lafferty should have been the finishing piece. No way I would have traded Sandin and Engvall.

This could be great don't get me wrong, but if we fail at the first hurdle we once again put ourselves in the position of being the laughing stock of the league.

These are the moves of a desperate GM pandering to Media pressures.

As for Luke Schenn, I personally don't enjoy reheated soup.
I get what you're trying to say here but soup is often better when you let it sit for a while, the flavours get a chance to blend. Hopefully this is true with Schenn.

Kudos to Dubas for finally realizing this team needs a seismic cukture shift. So much character and compete coming in, intangibles that go beyond simple metrics. We now have talent that can thrive within a team others don’t see as soft and easy to play against.
He seems to have learned that having a token 4th liner who hits/fights is not going to be enough. They needed players who play with attitude and push-back. Getting rid of Engvall certainly shows that. He is also going for size which until recently wasn't a priority. He is learning the hard lessons and he is also seeing what the "old fart brigade" were trading for come playoff time and it wasn't for tiny Nik Petan's with some skill.

Since Poille is willing to move guys out of Nashville on his way to retirement we may as well get Saros too.

Murray and that 1st we just got back from Washington. Make it happen Kyle.

If Dubas somehow finds a way to now trade the 1st + Murray + whatever else is needed for Saros - we in it baby

Not even close to get Saros, especially with sending Murray. Think another 1st on top plus a top prospect.

Like him or hate him, Kyle has layed his balls on the table this deadline.

Let's take a minute to appreciate the work. Once again..... whether you agree with the moves or not.

It's up to the players/staff now.

yeah we'll have to wait right up till Fri it looks like but Dubas has been a mad lad this deadline.

Every move, IMO has made the team better, so for me that's a big :thumbu:

Shirley he must be done now?

@kb @Gary Nylund @Leaf Fans God help me. I am now a "Dubasite" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LMAO. Take it easy there dude, and to be clear I hate all these terms Dubasite, Dubass what have you. I'm not some enormous Dubas fan and I have criticized him plenty. I just think he's done more good than bad and he's the best GM we've had in ages (though that's not even really saying that much).

In other news, I go out for a walk, grab a bite for dinner and we've made 3 more trades, what the heck? My first impressions:

Moving Engvall for Schenn basically, love it!!

Moving Sandin though, I'm gonna have to digest this one for a bit.

Well according to some this team was never soft or easy to play against lol. Even Dubas knew it

LOLOLOLOL!

The irony is, as much as I am loving the sheer amount of dopamine this day has provided the question remains.....will the team be pushed over the hump, or will they just look tougher in defeat?
At the very least we can scrap in the handshake line if need be...

Probably a couple trades still to go. Too many D men, means one likely out the door.

And those 1sts are probably burning a hole in his pocket
What's the D Man depth chart as it stands right now?

That is too much to hope for but you have to think that late first will somehow be attached to Murray one way or another.
When i first read what that guy wrote, I thought, what the F***, why Marner, then realized he was referring to Murray. lol
