ud think if he had surgery immediately hed be able to return for the 2nd round of the playoffs if we made it that far. that be 4-5 weeks from now.

The Rangers will miss Kreider's size and speed. Net presence. Opens up the ice. You can make the argument for a majority of the players being inconsistent. You can count the number of consistent Rangers from day 1 until now with no fingers. Not one.

Yeah but it's not like he's being replaced by a slow midget. And Miller has some parts of the game that he's better at than Kreider. It's not like we're the Pens where half our roster is hurt. We've been mostly healthy since the start of the season.

Miller isn't afraid to drop the gloves either... That being said he'll be murdered if he tried to fight anyone big.

Rough news, perfect time to re-unite the Pouliot-Brass-Zucc line and put MSL with Nash.

ploos

i'd go
Nash-Stepan-MSL
Pou-Brass-Zucc
Hag-Beaver-Moore
Carcillo-Boyle-Dorsett

let Miller continue to develop. I don't want him up so AV can give him 8 min a night.
edit: wait, do they actually have Miller up riding pine? wtf?

Agree! People just look at his stats. The guy has speed and size and is usually the first one down the ice to pressure the opposing d-men. Makes it harder for other team to exit zone. Kind of like what Hags does but Hags doesn't have the size

Yeah but Miller is big and fast too, very tenacious. Maybe not as big or fast as Kreider, but I think he can pick up the slack there.

Nobody is questioning Miller i think he will be a good player especially next year. However he is still a young player going through the process. I think the Rangers can win without Kreider BUT it does hurt because even when Kreider doenst score he open the ice up for guys like nash to have scoring oppurtunities

Carcillo is sick and not playing. Miller is up and will be playing.

If miller can't play sound defensively tonight then maybe having fast make the road trip would be in order.

Having an ahl team full of trash Can't help these kids transition to an av style of play so if miller struggles sather shares in the failure.

kreider is apparently seeking a 2nd opinion to see if he can come back sooner. mckenzie just said as much on NHL live on nbcsn.

What are the odds that JTM and Fast can become Cally and Dubi like?

Fast has been more likely compared to Hagelin from the right side. Maybe a better shot, not sure. So I would say not as physical but will forecheck hard and work the corners.

Bob McKenzie on NBCSN said: “It appears that he has a hand injury and we believe it to be a broken hand that the initial diagnosis that he got was that it could be a month or two or three depending on how exactly they go about treating it. Whether surgery is required it could be in fact season ending with a fracture in his hand. That said, Alain Vigneault said today that Kreider was looking for a second opinion and the sense seems to be that he wants to make sure that every opportunity is exhausted to find maybe some way that he can contribute some how done the stretch. The funny thing about injuries at this time of year, and I made this mistake yesterday when I reported Kreider was going to be out a long time was that you never report that I guy is going to be out a long time because anything short of decapitation is day to day in the NHL. At this point it seems like a tough road for Chris Kreider but he will see if there is some way that he can contribute down the stretch but the prognosis for now is not great.”

Tough kid he was already playing through it the last couple games. Obviously i dotn wnat him to make it even worse and miss any time next season but if he can get back sooner that would be a plus

Cant believe he played the last few games with this injury. Im hoping the second opinion says a couple weeks of rest will allow him to come back for the playoffs

McKenzie said something like "he could miss a month or two or three"... according to that quote from SNY I can't tell if he meant 2-3 weeks or months. Months would be unphathamable. I can't imagine anything short of severe tendon damage could hold a player out 2-3 months with a hand injury. But clearly not a doctor.

2-3 weeks is ideal. Kreider can recharge a little and come back strong.
