It's not a worthwhile return for the player that's still in there somewhere.

But the Rangers have gone all in on this Kane situation. They are each tired of each other and they are willing to take an underwhelming return just for cap space at a deadline.

Sad outcome but when the coach didn't have any time for the player this year despite Drury doing everything he could to bring him back on good terms, that was all she wrote.

Really poor job by the Rangers entering a rebuild.
I get why it was made; going for Kane (which, in my view is a mistake; I'd rather go all in for Meier, but cap wise this year and next, it isn't likely doable); just disappointing it came to this.

What can you do. The Rangers should've looked into his mental makeup more thoroughly during the draft process and Kravtsov still has some growing up to do. It stings when a top 10 draft pick doesn't pan out and this organization has had 2 flame out in the last 5 years. At least Lafreniere and Kakko are showing signs of becoming contributing players; hopefully their offensive production picks up in the ensuing seasons.

I think we should all take a moment of silence for our dear friend Ed Jovanoski, on the loss of his dear departed golden boy.....

I hope the magic of Kane and Panarin back together again will ease his sorrow.:partytime:

I look at this way. Take out whoever is at fault for whatever. Forget that altogether. Can the guy play in a top 9 for the Rangers and produce? That's pretty much what this year for him was about......and he got outplayed by guys like Vesey, Goodrow and even Gauthier who has put a lot more effort into trying to improve his overall game.

We're at the serious part of the year and hoping to make noise again. Vitali wasn't going to help us there. Having a roster spot held by a player who isn't going to play and you don't really trust is a waste for a playoff bound team. You want even your spares to be able to step in. I would trust Brodzinski, Cuylle....maybe even Carpenter to step in at least better than Kravtsov would.
No, he wasn't going to be a key contributor to this team during a stretch run. The return stinks, but the team was in a bind and he wasn't going to be a part of them going forward. It is what it is. I had hopes for him, but, unfortunatelty, things didn't work out. It is what it is.

As I posted to @mas0764 it's disappointing it came to this and it stings when a top 10 pick flames out. This organization has had 2 of those in the last five years. It looks like Lafreniere and Kakko are beginning to look like they'll be contributing to the team as they (hopefully) progress in their careers.

I'd rather see Cuylle get a chance in the playoffs if an extra forward is needed. At least he has some upside.

Man alive did Gorton whiff on this loser and on Lias. Horrific.
And the infamous 2018 trade deadline with the Tampa trade being the crown jewel of the worst moves of the last decade.

We have nothing to show for the 2018 trade deadline except Lindgren, Miller, Matthew Robertson and Dallas 2023 1st. Which we may or may not lose in the STL trade anyway.

With the benefit Gorton had of liquidating a roster that was a few months removed from the 2nd round of the playoffs (and did everything in their power to choke that series away)... he should have gotten returns that funded a guaranteed Cup contender for years to come.

The Rangers "rebuild" will go down as one of the most confusing, short lived, busts of all time.

Headlined by the Tampa trade, the Kravstov pick and Trouba contract.

Well this was a perfectly executed plan, play the kid sporadically, sit him for extended periods so he can't possibly get used to the NHL,let him play one game in a few weeks then scratch him again and then trade him for a bag of cheetos and a worthless draft pick. Man they sure taught that kid a lesson, when that 7th rounder turns into the next Conor McDavid he'll be sorry.

He didn't have the strength to play in the NHL because he repeatedly refused to do what the organization asked him to do. It's on him.

Kravtsov memory: Pre-COVID training camp, Quinn still has the new car smell as he’s walking through the ramp like a balance beam. Kravtsov is dangling alone on one end of the ice against a college fodder goalie. Kakko just turned in an unimpressive scrimmage but everyone is trying to pretend that they just saw greatness birthed. As the session ends, 74 continues to F around with the puck. If you squint hard enough, you see a Kovalev. Fast forward a couple years later and the euro trash designer clothing instagram videos that he poses for reveal where his head is at. Nikita Filatov went 6 ov and scored 6 NHL goals for Columbus before kicking around the KHL for a decade. Kravtsov has 5. It ends quickly.

I would respect him a hell of a lot more if his last name started with a C instead of an L.
Or F. J. K. R.

Fockwood.
Jockwood
Kockwood
Rockwood

The last name has potential. Too bad the player doesn’t.

If we win the cup, do they give Kravy a ring?
Yes.
