I can't make it any more clearer. You just can't see your hand in front of your face can you? Blais moved up because Kravy got injured. Prior to that, Blais was on the 4th line. That's what happens when a player gets injured. He didn't win the spot, he moved up due to injury. And for you to not understand this, puts into question your ability to reason and think clearly. Kravy also got some shifts on the first line before he got injured. Kravy and Blais clearly had separate roles on this team, and for you to lump them fighting for the same spot is ridiculous.
Yes, Krav got hurt and then Blais moved up from the 4th line, and then
Blais performed better in that spot than Kravtsov did either before or after the injury. That's what "winning the spot" means. It means you get an opportunity and you outperform the guy who used to have that job. Blais hit more, he scored 3x more, and he played better defense. Period. Krav got some shifts on the first line. And didn't win the spot. Krav got an extended shot on that third line, and didn't win the spot. This isn't complicated.
One other thing you might not be aware of is that,... The Rangers chose to carry only 13 forwards instead of the typical 14 most clubs carry entering the season. So Kravy was very much in direct competition for a spot on the roster over the 8th defensemen, which happens to be Hajek. And why exactly? Was/is Hajek gonna get icetime? You damn well know Kravy would have!
You know what the 7th and 8th defensemen and the 13th and 14th forwards all have in common?
They don't play regularly. Krav needs to play regularly.
Your logic on this matter is so skewed, it doesn't makes sense for this conversation to go any further.
Is Kravtsov best served by playing fourth line minutes? Hypotheticals like this only emphasizes how warped your logic is, I'm sorry to say.
I can send you my CV if you really want to know about my skills with logic. I literally have a PhD in a field that was completely obsessed with Aristotle and logic.
Here's a quick logic lesson for you: When you claim that Krav should have made the team over Hunt (a 4th liner), your implication is that Krav should be doing what Hunt is doing (ie: playing on the fourth line). That, of course, is NOT what you are claiming. You want Kravtsov on one of the top 3 lines. Those six spots have
nothing to do with Hunt. It's the equivalent of a child saying that he wants to demote his broccoli and replace it with an equally sized second dessert. Yes, they take up the same general amount of space on the plate, but they have very different roles in terms of the nutritional value of the meal. Krav would have had to beat out one of Kreider, Panarin, Kakko, Laf, Goodrow, or Blais, and all of those players have either a better track record, a better pre-season performance, or both.
This team has been weakened by this turn of events. We are weak on the right side due to this. This Canadian and west coast stretch coming up will be a disaster. Out of the first 12 games, how many do you think we might win with this glaring weakness?
The team has less talent because of this turn of events. You want to see a team weakened? Start giving whiny, entitled players spots they didn't earn and demoting the guys who
did earn those spots. You'll lose the room faster than you can imagine. If Kravtsov had shut his mouth and done his job, he would have had another opportunity and maybe he would have seized it. But he's apparently too good for that.
