I would be very surprised if he ever plays for them. And in the rare chance he does, he's toast here anyway. It would only be a short-term relationship.

But at this point we're probably well beyond three strikes and you're out for Kravtsov.

Yes, Vancouver is a team that is rumored to have interest.

gee, i've been asking for Bo Horvat for a while yet he'll cost more prospects and dollars shortly based on his contract. With Mika signed i don't see it happening.

He would be the Rangers Captain though imo

IDK. If that's true and he was told to go down and do a quick conditioning stint after the injury and he refused, that's total bullshit on his part. And to those that say it's foreseeable and we should have done something differently--what? We keep him up but scratch him? As reported, he thought he belonged in the top six last year. You think that will play well with him? If we shuffle him down the lineup this year (like pretty much everyone that's not Panarin, Strome, or Zibanejad will be), how will he handle that? Sounds like the problem is he's an entitled shithead.

So that gets us to the point of, well, if we knew this, why didn't we trade him sooner? That's something I can get behind. The problem is we drafted a loser and didn't get rid of him when it became clear he was a loser. They gambled that they could make it work and they failed. Gorton did the same shit with DeAngelo--he gambled he could turn a loser into something better and it blew up in his face. I see more of an issue with identifying character in the draft process and then asset management, rather than player development.

Seems to me that the front office needs to get tougher, not just the players

We’d be lucky as hell....
Makes some sense - gives Minnesota a cheaper young piece that can (or we thought could) be inserted into the lineup right away. Wing for kk?

could send a wall or huska or garand back. Gives us a backup to Igor in a few years and can leverage an Igor trade before his deal expires if Jesper is coming along… otherwise if Igor performs will we be able to pay him then? Maybe if another young gun drops…

kravtsov wall and hajek for wallstedt?

I'm still uncertain on how this move actually HELPS Kravtsov?

At this stage of his career, he can not think that NOT playing is going to help him develop.

He must believe that teams are tripping over themselves in an effort to line up and trade for him.

He has a grand total of 20 games of an NHL resume with mediocre to poor results to his resume.

I like him, think if he put in the effort and got better he could be a 20/20 guy with a little higher upside, but hes not the 2nd, 3rd or 4th coming of anything special.

If his agent is co-signing on this, he should be ashamed of himself and any other client should look at other options.

What are Kravtsov’s life options if hockey doesn’t pan out? Serious question, and honestly a major discriminating factor I would use in evaluating prospects. Is this kid’s dad an oligarch or some shit?

I agree with your post 100%, but there's another problem with this mentality - it's sort of hard to assess when they gamble on someone with entitlement or other personality issues, and it actually works. We never really learn about that.

We only learn about when they fail. We can never know if someone like, say, Fox ever had propensity to be an issue in the locker room or in responding to management/coaching decisions. He's a player that literally refused to be part of another NHL team and I'm sure some of Carolina's fanbase thinks he's entitled.

Of course, we all know he's a winner and probably the NYR's most valuable asset right now. At the end of the day, these teams are all guessing, and every player is a judgement call.

They got it wrong with Krav, and I think we're right to criticize. But it's hard to say whether there's a consistent "issue" with the front office in identifying "character" which is not really a quantifiable trait.

More evidence that the kid has an entitlement issue. That's on him and nobody else.

The Rangers knowing he has an entitlement issue and not being prepared for him to throw a tantrum, that's on them.
This is the crux of it.
He Grew up Uber wealthy, and it’s seems like he’ll work hard and apply himself to a point, but when things veer off course, he can’t handle it and throws a tantrum and runs home

I'm probably way off base on value but could a deal involving Jones & Krav to detroit for Zadina(+?) make sense? I remember Friedman saying that he's waiting for him to take that next step and Det liked Krav during his draft year and their LD is severely lacking esp if they sell off Leddy & Staal by the deadline.

Huge red flag for me. Making it in the pros is all about drive. If this kid has something comfortable to fall back on the chances of him not meeting his potential go way up.
Right, but then what about Seth Jones, the Tkachuk brothers, even Brendan Brission currenly a PPG guy at Michigan? Probably tons of other examples of kids coming from serious money who don't have attitude issues or think they're just entitled to roles.

Reality is you've gotta be at least middle class to even play this sport.
