I like Krav, and see potential in him becoming a pretty good player, but there was nothing this preseason that screamed this guy needs to be in the top6. It seemed like he’s being put in position to be the first call-up, which is the perfect spot for him.

Get top line minutes, let the big club work out the kinks of the new season, and come up first opportunity.

this is not at all a good look for the kid.
I think he can be a regular 20-goal scorer, maybe reaching 30 goals once or twice, a la Richard Zednik — if everything goes right. Far likelier, this fit has put a red flag on him that won’t go away for a while, and he might return to Russia for a few years before an NHL team is willing to give him a look again. Isn’t that what happened with Radulov? (Sincere question — memory is iffy; I recall he was drafted by Chicago and then disappeared for years.)

Kravtsov for wallstedt
VK has negative trade value: He takes up a roster spot and cap space but doesn’t play. Either a bad contract or “future considerations” is coming back; anything else is overpayment. We have zero leverage here.

ZERO hopefully . Get rid of him and build a TEAM around the guys that DO want to be part of a real team and accomplish something . ....

what the heck is wrong with this organization?

Game 1 last year DeAngelo
Game 1 this year Krav

Buch, Krav and TDA = what in return? A 3rd liner and draft pick?

Meanwhile Kreider was resigned and is playing Right Wing? Strome is still here?

Im starting to wonder if Drury is the problem here? Ever since joining this franchise/management team, we have been hearing reports of problems in HFD and even in NY with our kids.
The real reason behind all this is Kravtsov didn’t want to try his shitty pizza, Drury gets really offended when a Russian or Swede has the nerve to critique his pies. Drury is like JT Miller with the onion rings, he’s show up to practises with stacks of pizza boxes and coerced players into eating it. That’s why Kakko was so out of shape his rookie year, he kept having gluten flare ups from the pizza but Drury wouldn’t believe him that he had celiac disease; he thought it was an excuse to not eat his pizza.

Do they mean conditioning as to rehab the injury or conditioning as in he’s in bad shape and that’s why he got injured? I don’t know about leg strength but his “conditioning” is some of the best on the team, he is the first man in on every forecheck and first man back on every backcheck, always before our Center and usually before the damn second D. He does all that without raising his heart rate lol he never gets tired. I also don’t know how weak his legs can be when he’s the best skater on the team

I'm pretty sure it's about the injury, but let's say it is about his shape. Do you seriously think that they would tell Kravtsov to work on his conditioning at Hartford, using it as a false excuse, instead of sending him down for whatever other reason?

Okay. EdJo alternates making me laugh with intentional and unintentional comedy.
I found that pizza post pretty funny.
And then I picture you monitoring Krav’s heartrate after a shift by some arcane means. Haha. I mean come on, how do you know how elevated his pulse is after a shift. Hahaha.
It sounds like a totally reasonable ask to work on conditioning after an injury. And even if the underlying reason was to not have to waive someone while you seek a deal, that’s REASONABLE too. It’s a team sport and part of being an NHLer is being a good team player.

Bro, he obviously pulled a groin/hammy in preseason and wasn't on the ice for most of camp because of it. I don't care how good shape this man keeps himself, everyone loses their conditioning if they can't train because of an injury. So throw all that "best shape/strong/fastest" out the window when it comes to coming back from a leg injury. There are plenty of healthy bodies that can give full 100% which means asking him to simply go down to get in game shape is not unreasonable.

maybe they are trying to teach him a lesson? Especially if they cant find a good trade.:dunno:

I doubt it's about trying to teach him a lesson. It's about taking the same approach they take with every young player: Earn your way onto the roster. You can't force kids to mature and take personal responsibility but you can give them opportunities to take those steps. Some players will and they'll flourish. Unfortunately some players will decide to take their skates and sulk off somewhere else.

You see it with varying degrees between Kravtsov, Lias, and DeAngelo. You also see it with JT Miller. He had his own maturity issues and it took him getting traded twice to realize he needed to do better. Now he's the guy the Rangers thought he could be.

More evidence that the kid has an entitlement issue. That's on him and nobody else.

The Rangers knowing he has an entitlement issue and not being prepared for him to throw a tantrum, that's on them.

This is all that needs to be said.
