I thought we should have started the season with Kravtsov on the third line with Chytil and Goodrow. I think Kravtsov looks like he's going to be a good player.
With that said, we have much better lineup depth this year, spots are competitive, there were other young players battling for the same spot as Kravtsov who clearly had better camps (Gauthier, Barron), and there are legitimate cap reasons to have sent Kravtsov down instead of players who needed to clear waivers.
So while I definitely agree with Kravtsov being frustrated, I also think it's clear that he didn't handle this situation the right way. And for all the fans yelling about "poor asset management!" I'm sorry, we've had how many young players come through our system over the past four years, and how many behaved this way? Lias and Kravtsov? Yeah, the problem is with them for acting entitled instead of being a f**** professional. Kakko never got sent down, but he had his trials with Quinn, getting publicly criticized and getting crap minutes. He responded by completely overhauling his defensive game, and getting into awesome shape and having one of the best camps of all our players this year. Hajek, who sucks, has been up and down and never complained. Morgan Barron has a case for being on the roster right now, he got sent down and didn't refuse to report to Hartford FOR THE SECOND TIME. Jones is absolutely an NHL d-man, he isn't complaining about Hartford. Judging by Kravy's behavior, you'd think he wasn't a top prospect who spent the last three years marginally improving.
Better players - much better players - than Kravtsov, are going through the same thing while maintaining their professionalism. The only thing I blame NYR for is drafting two kids who turned out to be complete a***holes in Lias and Kravtsov.
