Sounds like he was actually hoping for a trade and he tried to read between the lines to see what he wanted to.
Rangers: Vitaly, we like you, lots of potential, just train harder, work harder.
Kravtsov to buddies: They hate me, they'll def be trading me soon as long as I keep my shit habits! *high five*
from what I can tell, when drury traded Buch, kravtsov believed he would have a top6/9 starting spot on the right side no questions asked. He got a bit blind sided and didn’t expect a kreider/LaF switch to RW and Blais being more then a 4th line player.
It’s very similar to the ADA situation last camp. Coming fresh off his new deal, ADA did not expect to be playing 3rd pair/no PP 1st unit.
Miller having success with trouba in camp not only killed his top 4 dreams, but Fox had also taken his 1PP duties. He now had to fight just to get a 3rd pair role, much like Krav having to fight for a top 9 role.
When Krav found out he was going to the A, I’m guessing he reverted back to his old spoiled/pouty ways. He believes the A is beneath him, he has since his rookie year. Sure he went to Hartford willingly when he came back from Russia the 1st time because he had to, he hurt his value and he knew he’d have to put in time there making amends so to speak.
The kid has talent/size no doubt, but he’s got a serious attitude/drive problem. When the going gets tough and adversity rears it’s head, people either rise to the occasion, or fold like a cheap suit. Crying about it and demanding a trade without going to Hartford for at least a month or so to start the year is such a rich spoiled brat thing to do. You can tell in life, if things don’t go his way, he throws a tantrum. This is twice now.
I’m not saying he doesn’t play hard or didn’t deserve a spot, but it seems to me the kids has no balls.
He should have reported to Hartford. If he ripped it up down there for a month or 2 and there was no intention in calling him back up, then imo, he has a legitimate gripe. At that point, I’d want to be traded and start fresh else where as well. It’s pretty evident he doesn’t like competition, he wants things handed to him and tbh we don’t need that. Not now when we’re fixing our culture/identity. Add in the fact there were questions maybe about his training or getting along with other teammates ( not feeling like he’s a part of the group) and it’s better for him to leave and not let this drag on. Don’t want that toxic attitude anywhere near our kids while they are young and impressionable.
He also lowered his trade value to the point where Drury is now dealing from a handicap. I’m sure other teams will have interest, but the first think they are going to bring up to drury is that he has questions about his drive/character. I’d be surprised if he got a 2nd for him at this point on a 1 for 1 deal.
Hopefully it turns out like the Lias for Cuylle trade for us.
We haven’t had much luck taking euro players in the 1st rd as of late. Hopefully chytil breaks the mold. There’s very little doubt in my mind that if Lundkvist didn’t make 3rd pair/team right out of camp, his going to the A for a long period of time would be a problem as well.
If he gets beat out by Schneider/Jones/Robertson next camp for 1 of the last 2 D spots he’ll demand a trade as well....
