I really don't have an issue with Kravtsov requesting a trade. He doesn't think he has a future here and by not giving him a chance in the NHL the Rangers might be taking away from his max earnings. Not that the Rangers owe him that, but I understand wanting to find a team that's a better fit for him now.

Not reporting to Hartford is pure entitled garbage though. It isn't making him a better player and it isn't going to give him any extra trade value. And guess what kid? Rangers don't have to trade you if they don't want, so you not helping get a worthy return could really backfire.

Further, there is very, very little chance in the next 2-3 years he would play regularly over Kreider, Panarin, Kakko, or LaFreniere. Kreider ShOuLd BE oN tHe ThIrD LiNe, uh, sure, but that doesn't often happen with $6.5M guys who are 2 years into a 7 year deal. If I'm Kravstov, I'm pretty blocked in this org, and I'm trying to get out ASAP if my goal is to have a meaty top 6 role in the NHL.

Regardless of whether the player was entitled or not the Rangers have completely botched the management of a second prime asset.

Why not try him at center? Why not keep him on the club and seek a trade before letting this bomb go off?

It does feel like there's more this than meets the eye. I mean I think everyone, upon hearing Kravtsov would be sent down, had some amount of fear over "is he gonna run?" Surely the Rangers had considered it as well. Just seems like none of this was totally unforeseen and that something else was going on that made the Rangers okay with going this route.

I am not gonna blast anyone, enough guys doing that,
but you'd think they'd pull Krav and Bread and management into a room, talk it thru, w eye in big picture, and get everyone on same page. Not a situation that actually merits such drama.
