I think Gauthier deserves to play over Hunt. If Gauthier nuts up and uses that size and strength like he should, he'd be an awesome player.

That's fine, but still with any young prospect who has proven nothing you probably don't want them to play on the 4th line, especially when you're trying to make that line a physical crash and bang line

Kravtsov got first crack at the 3rd line, he got a crack at the 1st line even, it sucks he got hurt and that probably didn't help things.
Shit now that I say that I wonder if him staying back instead of doing the team bonding was an issue as well, lol. Makes me wonder if there's more going on behind the scenes with him and his agent even before camp.

This kid has cried and ran away every time he’s been asked to prove himself. Done with him.

Same back bone as lias Andersson.

meanwhile look at Chytil just taking every chance he’s given and showing he’s a beast. Look at kakko. Busted his ass to do everything better now one of the best defensive forwards we have. Nils Lundkvist maybe 150 soaking wet look what he’s done to get here. Lindgren busted his ass.

even buchnevich moved because of money but he completely turned his career around and now is a legit top line player making money.

Kravtsov has a lot to learn. ALOT. We did a horrible job drafting two extremely thin skinned entitled brats

now it’s also on management not moving guys when they should have. Took on too many prospects and picks and didn’t turn them into trades. Only so many spots to play.

It’s unbelievably dumb that we’re going to jeopardize the potential of Kravtsov because we were worried about losing Hajek on waivers. Never mind that Hajek is worthless, doesn’t matter if he got claimed and probably wouldn’t, it’s the definition of penny wise, pound foolish. Kravtsov may not turn into anything but he still has a chance to be a cheap top 6 winger and we’ll now be lucky to trade him for fifty cents on the dollar
You're acting like keeping him on the roster perma scratched would make this all disappear and he wouldn't do the same thing after playing in 2 of the first 11 games on the 4th line.

Bro, pls.

You know what, good. Nip it in the bud.

You aren't promised anything in this league until you earn it.

I have had my doubts about Kravstov and how he would fit into this lineup anyway

This also confirms my confusion as to why he wasnt included in the bonding trip. I think Drury saw this coming and wanted to test his meddle by sending him down again - to see if he's matured. Well, we have our answer. Kid thinks he's hot shit.

Hopefully they get good value for him, but what a waste of time

Not a surprise that Bobrov is no longer around.

Bottom line is that Kravtsov wasn't good enough to lock down a top 6 spot that was all but gifted to him. That indicates that he needs more development, either in the effort category or the skill category. So the Rangers sent him to the AHL where he could play on the top line for a couple three weeks (the scenario is almost identical to when Chytil was sent down a couple years back) and then come back up to take what's his. He, for the second time, refused.

If he's not good enough for his role on the NHL team and he refuses any opportunity to develop his game to get to that level, then what's the point? I liked the kid's potential, but he's only got 20 games and 4 points on his resume. He's a LONG way away from having the clout to pull this kind of nonsense.

This is why Hunt will dress more than Julian

I think Gauthier gets in about 40-50 games this season between injuries and games that won't be as physical where they can rest someone like Blais, Hunt or Reaves to let them recuperate. That plus COVID still being a thing and I think we see a good amount of him.

It does feel like there's more this than meets the eye. I mean I think everyone, upon hearing Kravtsov would be sent down, had some amount of fear over "is he gonna run?" Surely the Rangers had considered it as well. Just seems like none of this was totally unforeseen and that something else was going on that made the Rangers okay with going this route.

Regardless of whether the player was entitled or not the Rangers have completely botched the management of a second prime asset.

Why not try him at center? Why not keep him on the club and seek a trade before letting this bomb go off?

It's ridiculous.

So glad we traded Buchnevich now!

This f***ing team. It's completely botching the rebuild. How awesome that we ran off Gorts and JD so we could completely screw this all up.

What makes you so sure he will put up a ton of points. Also, he is soft as a pillow in the corners and is one of those players who currently wont take a hit to make a play. Could he become great....maybe....is it undeniable......absolutely not.
That sounds exactly like the enigma called Julian Gauthier or Marcel Hossa lite

This reeks of immaturity. You didn’t make the cut off of the opening roster so instead of putting your head down and getting to work for your next opportunity you ask for a trade. How about next you look at how hard you competition (goat) is working and match that. Unacceptable from Krav. I’m very disappointed in him.

I like how we just happen to be the only team that has first round picks go off the reservation for "immaturity."

Has happened twice now to us.

Or, you know, maybe there is something wrong with our management.

Not sure what to make of this. Yeah maybe the Rangers screwed up, but if he was clearly beaten out by other players, nothing can be done. Now if he goes somewhere and becomes a 60 point Top 6 winger on another team, well then they really screwed up, but then again, maybe that doesn't happen here because there is just no room for him in the Top 6 to get that kind of opportunity.

Due to long contracts signed by Kreider, Panarin, and more recently Goodrow. Along with Laf and Kakko as well on the wings. Rangers just a log jam in wingers for the Top 6/9.

Not sure what the issues are.

Not sure if he feels entitled to a spot, or if the team insinuated he had a spot to lose, as I do recall Gallant kind of doing that.

With what is expected to go on tomorrow night, I'd expect that he would dress at home for Dallas.

If the move to keep Hajek was the tipping point, then shame on both player and Org as its a paper move, but Hajek isn't or hasn't shown to be worth the effort.

Kravtsov's agent has to do a better job explaining why certain decisions are made as its not a reflection on the player, just the situation.

Drury better not f*** this up.

There are teams out there that could use a winger like Vitali.

The only way to salvage this is if you can find a young center to ship him for.

i think this really needs to be discussed further....most of us knew on this board that it could happen, i find it HARD to believe that upper management didnt see this coming either

i mean if they felt this way and were willing to risk it then just trade him, the fact hajek is still on the roster and hasnt been launched into the sun is completely mind boggling
