I heard that place is just a tourist trap for people with too much time on their hands.

32 Thoughts Podcast. Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek discussed the Vitali Kravstov situation. What you are VS what you could be. Elliotte brought up Pool party. Someone mentioned the player to him when they were talking about Kravstov. Edmonton didn’t get what they thought was value. They refused to trade him. The player went back to Edmonton and he has become a good player for them.

Big difference Edmonton didn’t have multiple blowouts like were reported between Drury - Kravtsov and it was “just” JP’s first strike against in terms of making a personal decision that disregarded team’s advice.

I know most don't want to hear this but this is the issue with drafting Russians in general, most are reluctant to do time in the minors and earn their way to the NHL. Kravtsov by mid season the latest and more likely with how everything played out after two weeks would have had a place on a line with Zibanejad and Kreider if he kept his mouth shut went to Hartford and just played hockey.

Kreider - Zibanejad - Kravtsov
Panarin - Strome - Kappo
Lafreniere - Chytil - Blais
Goodrow - Rooney - Reaves
Hunt - - Gauthier

I place 100% of the blame squarely on Kravtsov here he is soft, charmin soft! I can not wait for the door to hit him in the ass on the way out of town.

How about you don’t generalize? Shesterkin who was a lot more accomplished (understatement) just recently spent months in Hartford before joining the Rangers where he became a part of 3-goalie rotation. Arguably the best Russian player in the NHL right now worked his way to the NHL stardom through AHL. Buchnevich took AHL assignments in stride and so did a lot of other Russian NHLers.

I know how I was at 19. I was the dumbest version of myself. Even at 20, 21 I was stupid asf. So to me, they are still relatively stupid adults, or “kids.”

I know people in their late 30s-60s who may seem like "adults" but are emotionally children, narcissists, ego maniacs, and just make really poor decisions.

Some people just have low emotional intelligence or are inherently %^&$heads.

Patel Philippe? Jaeger-LeCoultre? Are these reserve candidates for our Quebecois second line?

Okay. I Googled. They are apparently watches. Forgive my ignorance. Grew up poor. The only "status watch" I ever owned was this bad boy in third grade:

674127

Many Patek Philip watches are like 2 mil, I think you have to grow up pretty rich to get one of those… ;)

I remember reading that a male's brain isn't fully developed (matured) until around age 24. Women mature a few years earlier.

Kravtsov is only hurting himself. The Rangers will find another winger. They will go on. The Rangers are playing a game this afternoon. Kravtsov is sitting in Chelyabinsk waiting for a trade. He isn't playing anywhere. He needs to play games. He is not developing and working on his game. All of these teams want their players to be two-way players. This guy is sitting at home. Drury should not trade him this season. Unless some team steps up with another young quality player in return or a #1 pick, the Rangers should let Vitali sit out the season. A young player who is not waiver eligible right now or next season or a AAAA player. The player is too good for the AHL but not good enough for the NHL. We already have Gauthier. The contract will toll to next season. He doesn't realize that. He should have reported to Hartford. Play out the season. Go the KHL next summer and play there until a trade is worked out or he comes back at 27 as a free agent if this season sucked for him. Gallant would have given him the opportunity to play. I am sure his agent told him but Vitali knows everything. He is making things harder for himself. I am sure his family and friends look at social media and these forums.
I for one really dont give a shit about making him pay or suffer, i care about getting the best return back for him and improving the team, as should every fan. Letting him sit in Russia only tanks his value even more. Trade him asap and move on.

Unless we’re getting a 1st round value back for him the earliest I’d be moving him would be at the draft. I don’t mind wasting a year of his hockey life at this point. Personally I don’t think there’s a team out there that would pony that much up for him. If we have to discount him for a 2nd rounder there’s no need to rush a deal. We can do that anytime. If it’s even less than a 2nd he might be in Chelyabinsk for a while.

I dunno - as an organization you can't keep rewarding decisions like this by granting trades. Lias, now Kravtsov, are assets to the organization that the Rangers went without for years on end (top 10 draft picks). Now, they decide they don't want to pay their dues and demand trades and we get Pennies on the dollar. I'm sorry, but I'm a Rangers fan and I have to look at this from a fan of what's best for my hockey team. Trading these guys because they feel like they should be with the big club when they shouldn't doesn't bode well for future prospects either.

The worst thing a professional athlete can do is take off the summer. 1-2 weeks off then.....

It wouldn't hurt to take a month off. Still plenty of time to get ready for the season. Recovery is very important after a long season. Must allow the body to heal after a long campaign. Allow all injuries to heal. This is common knowledge. You will still have a few months to get in shape.

Nobody said anything about taking the summer off. It just doesn't make sense to train right after the season has ended without any time to recover.
