He's immature, but he's ridiculously talented. Terrible asset management by Drury. You trade this kid early or you play him on the big club. Losing a 1st line upside talent because you want to play Gauthier or Hunt on opening night is pathetic. Vitali earned it with his play last year and his play in preseason.

If the kid mopes about going to Hartford, do you think he will be happy on the 4th line?

I remember when Buchy was a mopey emotional mess and then the light bulb went off (whether Quinn was responsible or not) and he realized he had to work his nuts off every game. There needs to be some self reflection here. If Gallant preaches he wants to be the hardest working team in the league and then gives Kravtsov ice time over Gauthier (who worked his tail off) or Blais, what message does that send?

I've been a fan of Kravtsov but on the surface it looks like he's just a thin skinned kid who can't take a little adversity and now has thrown a fit twice about it. 21 years old with a handful of garbage time NHL games and he's demanding a roster spot. That's not a good look especially since it's the second time he's done this.

From the Rangers side...who knows how they've communicated this with him? Maybe they've been giving him mixed signals. If that turns out to be the case I'll be more critical of them.

But...a team also can't be held hostage by a prospect who has proven nothing to them

I was looking forward to seeing him in the top 9, but Blais deserves to play higher up. With our winger depth you need to flip him for a center prospect, LA has those C prospects, but does that attitude hurt his value?

Drury should've just waived Hajek or traded Kravtsov, now his value is even lower because everyone knows he wants out and he didn't make our roster.


Btw we suck at drafting in the 1st round. Hopefully Miller and Lundkvist are the exceptions... (Kakko & LAF excluded due to being top 2 picks).

No way is Edmonton doing that. RNH essentially is a winger, either him or Drai lines up there. Holloway is their only hope at having a 3C really soon.

They're not going to be overwhelmed with value back in return. It's going to be another player that isn't happy where he is.

Apparently Seravelli said that Kravtsov for Dylan Strome is one trade he could see. People here couldn't handle one Strome, if we have two, there might be a conniption here. Also, Sam having to differentiate between Ryan Strome and Dylan Strome would be fun.

The Hajek thing is confounding though. Even if he wasn't horrible, we're pretty deep at LD. I mean you have Tinordi as the vet and Zac Jones as the young guy ready to step in. Hajek has no place on this team.

Gathier showed promise driving the play with his puck retrieval and along the boards, in addition to his speed taking the puck to the net. We need strong possession, especially in the bottom 6, especially for the playoffs

For the most part, there's no room to be fancy in the NZ in the playoffs which fits Gathier's style more than VK. VK just doesn't have that grind to his game and outside our top 6 Gallant is not interested in pure skill guys. VK he's not interested in developing it outside the NHL. Chytil is already an exception on the bottom 6 but is slowly getting better along the boards.

Gallant and Drury are looking for our bottom 6 to have identity and I like it, sorry VK no room for you on the top 6 and your skill set doesn't work on the bottom 6. I hope we can get decent value and he does ok wherever he goes.
