Really? Because he sure didn’t play better than them. He had a very underwhelming preseason. And you can say he has better potential but there is a saying in sports. Potential will get you fired.

Should be a no-brainer really. He is 21 y/o. It’s super obvious that he still will develop a lot. He isn’t far away from being a solid top 9 as it is, let him grow another year and he will be in contention next season. Or this spring.

Trade Kravtsov for a center prospect. Sleep well at night knowing we have Lafreniere and Kakko. Drafting them after Kravtsov made him less important to the rebuild overall, would be great if he became a star too but we didn't hinge on it like we would have if we didn't land Kakko and Laf.

Gauthier was light-years better.

I can see maybe hunt..but hunt at the very least was a push and is much better suited for a 4th line role.

Kravtsov...kinda stunk for almost his entire tenure.

I remember a certain someone who told me that we were gonna see dekes like we've never seen before when we drafted him. And all I could think to myself was...well...were f***ed. This kid will never make the nhl if all he's gonna do is try to deke everyone.

He's played better..but nowhere near well enough.

Our drafting at the top has been atrocious... particularly for a team that keeps talking about the Importance of character.
