Hey we might be drunk and high, wait what was the third thing you said?
Speaking of … I rented a car this past week at the Syracuse airport. I got in and smelled something foul right away, but I’m a pretty passive person so I thought “ahh, it’ll be fine” and drove away. Got to my parents place, slept, then got in the car again and … still there. I got used to it after a few minutes every time, but my brother said “oh that’s weed 100%.”

Like … was the rental car return guy hotboxing in there?

Luckily I didn’t get dinged for any extra charges when I returned it. I was prepared to go down swinging. Not only do I not know what it smells like … I’ll readily express my opinion on the subject of partaking.

Oh shoot. The GDT. Umm … another night where the 5/6D weren’t on for a GA.

Skjei, Pesce, Slavin and DeHann were all on the ice for 1 GA. Burns and Chatfield were not.

Pesce and Skjei were on the ice for the deflection goal. Slavin and DeHann (who just came on), were on the ice for the leaky goal Kochetkov gave up.
Ahh ok. I saw Slavin and assumed Burns was on too. Where’s @tarheelhockey and his plus/minus thing when you need him

So, fair point about Aho. But then again the Bruins managed to be down their top two guys and still win like there first 15 games or whatever. And the Pens year after keep winning even when missing Crosby.

But really- I don't want to hear "we are missing Pacioretty". The guy has never even played a single game for us. And he will at some point recover from a grievous injury. It is completely within the realm of possibility that he never does dick for us.
"We are missing Patches" is a completely fair and valid point. A significant amount of our cap is tied up in him. He may never recover and get back to the same level he was before, but that doesn't invalidate the point that a significant amount of our cap allocated to an elite goal scorer has been wasted due to injury -- a hindrance to our ability to compete so far. Now, every team deals with injuries, some more than others, so I am not a guy who will use that as some excuse but it is something to take into consideration.

Worked on the lot at Hertz at the Charlotte airport for a few summers, this happens pretty regularly actually

EDIT: I should add, customers often returned them this way

I think because the play carried with the delayed penalty they couldn’t cancel the penalty. I believe that is because if they had scored on the delayed penalty, we couldn’t review the goal for reversal. So, the penalty cant be reversed either. If was an immediate whistle then we could have seen no penalty as the refs get together. Ive seen refs reverse high sticks before.
Late to the party but I think the other rule is that they can review a high stick to confirm which stick hit the player if there is blood. But not if it's only a 2 minute penalty.

jack drury had a hell of a game. pyotr is going to have to stop cheating on cross ice passes. that shot was taken with him not being set in his stance. if you're moving while the puck is coming your chances of stopping it go down considerably. he's not quiet enough sometimes. I believe he thought that puck was going cross ice or into the bevy of humanity out front and wanted to get an early push and just got caught in between movements mentally and didn't get square.

really like noesen. it seems like every time he's on the ice and we score, he had something to do with it one way or another. just a nice find for our 3rd line and I love that he's still getting work on the PP, because he's really good in front of the net. he's just one of those guys that took some time and really bought in to the details once he realized that was his path to full time minutes.

it was good to hear forslund call a game again. sounds like he's having fun over there and that's fantastic. I picked up in the 2nd but didn't hear any kind of references to his prior employment here. I think the situation is still pretty icy.

I thought Drury quietly had an excellent game last night. Only showed with one assist, but he was able to drive play with the puck on his stick.

Burns... Look, he's really good at a lot of things, but his outlet passing is not one of them. He attempted 3 or 4 last night to try and get the puck to a guy who would have been on a break only to put it right on the tape of an opposing player for an immediate counter attack. Against the Krak we made it through ok but that's the kind of stuff that gets you ripped apart in the playoffs. Can't keep doing that.

Other than that, Koochie has one goal against he would definitely want back. The first was pinball to the back of the net, nothing he could do. At a certain point, probably very soon, we need to have an honest conversation about whether or not he is our starter the rest of the way.

And Svech just has those moments sometimes when he just decides hes going to score, and there's not much that the opposition can do to prevent it. He dominated play for long stretches last night, we need him to be that guy come the playoffs.

Truthfully, I think this not being the case is the reason we lost to the Rags last year and let Boston push it to 7. Svech needs to take that next step forward and carry it over into the playoffs. He was great before sending Lindholm to the shadow realm but for some reason after that hit he played timid and didn't do much offensively. If Svech was dominating in the playoffs, like we know he is capable of for stretches in the regular season, I think we could've even gotten to the Cup finals. Avs would've been tough but anything can happen once you're there.

Svech is still young so I'm not concerned yet but if we're 3-4 years into his contract and he's still not doing much in the playoffs I'll be concerned. Of the guys on the team right now I don't see any others who will be able to just take over a game in the playoffs like Svech can. Maybe Aho or Necas but not as likely.

This is where Dougie is missed, along with his goal-scoring. Dougie has a terrific outlet pass, one that helped our team many a nights.

Regarding Drury, I'd like to see him in the top-6 at some point. Also because he wears #18, maybe it's because of the retro jerseys with the old number style but I swear I was looking at Ryan Bayda last night.

I had to watch on replay, but that was a good game to watch, and I went with John Forslund as well. Really is a great broadcast the Kraken have put together. They do a better job than any broadcast I've ever heard at really breaking down tactics and systems for both teams.

I did enjoy how much they sang Slavin's praises and pointed out all the little things he does like zone entry denials. And Eddie O's comment that Slavin will stop being underrated when he's a Norris finalist was heartwarming. But the zone denials was something they pointed out for our scheme as a whole, along with really aggressive pinching by the D. Not news to us, but from an outside perspective, that's what we're known for.

TDA was a better passer than Hamilton, but slightly worse defensively.
Burns doesn't pass as well as either, but has more of a shot.

Fite me.

Bojangles.
